Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on
Wednesday the Iranian nation will slap the hegemonic powers in the face in
the upcoming parliamentary elections on Friday.
Islamic Revolution Leader made the remarks on Wednesday in an address
to a large number of people from different walks of life and family
members of martyrs.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation will demonstrate its firm
will to fight enemies through massive participation in the upcoming
parliamentary elections.
Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that the low election turnout of
American people in different presidential elections was in no way
comparable to that of Iranians both in presidential elections in 2010 and
the eighth parliamentary elections.
Saying that massive participation of people in elections will pro duce
a stronger parliament, Islamic Revolution Leader added that sending
eligible and honest people to the parliament was as important as people's
turnout in the polls.
Ayatollah Khamenei also pointed to the explicit and direct remarks by
the leader of the hegemonic powers on exerting pressures on the Iranian
people to exhaust their patience and give up their resistance.
He said the US, the West and the Zionist regime want to stop the
Iranian nation from moving in its path which has led to awakening of the
Islamic world and made Iran a role model for other Muslim nations.
Ayatollah Khamenei further stressed great importance of people’s
massive turnout in the 9th parliamentary elections.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution further said that the nation will deal
a blow to the bullying powers even more severe than the one dealt on them
during rallies celebrating th e victory anniversary of the Islamic
Revolution, making the enemies understand that they could do nothing
against the nation.
The Leader also said that the Friday elections are more sensitive
compared to the previous ones.
Noting that February 11 demonstrations this year just failed because of
people’s support for the Islamic system, Ayatollah Khamenei said enemies
wished to have a handful of grouplets come to streets in protest against
the Islamic system but things went wrong for them and now people have
started to take to streets in Europe in protest at their governments.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei
underlined that the Iranian nation has never sought and will never seek
nuclear weapons and has the capacity to break the supremacy of powers that
rely on nuclear arms.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution further emphasized that Iran will
prove to the entire world that nuclear weapons cannot solidify power
during a Wednesday meeting in Tehran with the director and officials of
the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) and nuclear scientists.
Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasized that scientific and nuclear
achievements are directly linked to the country’s national interests and
its future success.
"If nations manage to independently achieve progress in the fields of
nuclear energy, aerospace, science and technology, there will be no room
left for the tyrannical hegemony of global powers," Leader of the Islamic
Revolution said.
Ayatollah Khamenei further noted that arrogant powers regularly engage
in spreading propaganda and publicity with the ultimate objective of
impeding Iran's scientific advancement.
"There is no doubt that decision-making establishments in countries
that stand against us are quite aware that Iran does not seek nuclear
weapons since the Islamic Republic of Iran regards the possession of
nuclear weapons as a great sin, in terms of thought, theory and religious
edict, and also believes that holding such weapons is useless, costly and
dangerous," Leader of the Islamic Revolution said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that sanctions have been imposed on the country
since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, although the nuclear
issue is something related to the recent years.
"The key problem for the arrogant powe rs is the endurance of a nation
that has decided to stay independent and reject tyranny," Leader of the
Islamic Revolution said.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei says a
sweeping Islamic movement with Iran at its epicenter will ultimately
eliminate the domineering materialistic policies of the arrogant powers.
Speaking to a gathering of Iranian people of the northwestern province
of East Azerbaijan in the capital, Tehran, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to
the developments across the North African states and the Arab world, and
noted that the people in these nations are echoing the same slogans as the
Iranian nation used to chant under monarchical repression.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed out that the Islamic Republic
of Iran, which basically initiated such a widespread Islamic movement in
the region and beyond, will continue on its path.
Ayatollah Khamenei further maintained that Islam has reached a turning
point in its imme nse movement forward, which will bring about highly
significant changes in the world and terminate the existing hegemonic
power structures.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the resistance of the
Iranian nation has played a major role in the success and great
achievements of the Islamic establishment.
He added that a nation will achieve success in the fields of science
and technology, economy, social issues and international policies when it
has no fear of the enemy’s pompous approaches.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that Iran would turn into a “successful
and advanced model” for the Muslim world through the resistance of the
Iranian nation and particularly the youth.
The Leader warned that arrogant powers and their puppets have launched
broad propaganda and media campaigns against Iran's parliamentary
elections due to be held on March 2.
"Everyone should know that a high turnout of the Iranian people in the
elections would lead to the country’s promotion, and raise doubts for the
enemy before hatching plots; it will also make the enemy retreat,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Islamic Revolution Leader reiterated that the massive participation of
the people in the upcoming elections will deal a heavy blow to the enemy.

Ismail Haniya, the legal Palestinian Prime Minister met with Islamic
Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei Sunday morning.
Ayatollah Khamenei told the visiting premier in the meeting that the
recent Palestinian victories were a fruit of steadfastness and
perseverance of the nation and that the current Islamic Awakening movement
was in part the result of the Palestinian perseverance.
"In future too, victories will come about through resistance and
perseverance," the IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the Gaza people's defeating of the
Zionist regime in 2008's 22-day war and said the case of Gaza was also
instrumental to the formation of waves of Islamic Awakening. "The
sentiments of the regional nations, accumulated during the Gaza events,
were also conducive to the sudden volcanic explosions," Ayatollah Khamenei
said.
Ayatollah Khamenei warned that any action that undermines the
resistance would also mar the prospects of Muslims. "We must always take
care to prevent compromise-minded elements from infiltrating the body of
resistance by noting that diseases break out gradually," the IR Leader
cautioned.
Ayatollah Khamenei then made mention of the political fate of Yaser
Arafat who after running popular due to an era of resistance in his past,
was later ostracized by the regional nations after leaving the path of
resistance. "Resistance and perseverance helps absorb the people's hearts
and provides a great legacy that must be preserved," Ayatollah Khamenei
said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic Republic considers the Palestinian
issue as an Islamic issue in nature and one of its own, adding that Iran
is firm and honest in the Palestinian issue and will always stand by the
Palestinian people.
Palestinian premier for his part expressed profound delight for the
meeting and congratulated the IR Leader on the 33rd anniversary of the
Islamic Revolution of Iran (1979). Ismail Haniya said Iran marks the 33rd
anniversary of his revolution while the world is witness to great changes,
including the Islamic Awakening.
He thanked the Iranian nation and government's support in the
Palestinian issue and said the Palestinian people consider the Iranian
nation as a strategic reserve for the Palestinian issue. He said he was
witness to presence of millions of people in the February 11 march across
Tehran's thoroughfares aboard a helicopter before landing for his speech
at Azadi square, north of Tehran Saturday.
Ismail Haniya then outlined triple strategic policies adopted and
operated by the Palestinian government, namely freedom of the entire
Palestinian land from the Jordan River to the Mediterr anean Sea, pursuit
of resistance and rejection of compromise talks with the Zionist regime,
and finally consideration of the Palestinian issue as an Islamic issue in
nature.
Haniya said he had faith in God's promise that the Palestinian nation
will definitely get victory and the Zionist regime will perish away. The
Palestinian premier then underlined the IR Leader's doctrinal view that
Muslims are currently experiencing conditions similar to those of the Badr
and Kheibar wars in early Islam when Islam was dominant rather than those
of Sheb Abitaleb's, when Muslims were enduring the aggressions of enemies.

Poets and participants of a major international gathering on the
current Islamic Awakening (wrapped up in Tehran Monday) met with the
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei Monday night in a
week dedicated to unity between Muslims worldwide.
The meeting commenced with several poets from Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen,
Bahrain, Lebanon, Sudan, Iraq, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the
Islamic Republic of Iran reading out their latest works on the theme of an
Islamic Awakening movement that has been inspiring the Muslim nations in
their struggle against Zionism and Imperialism.
Other poems were about the Holy occupied al-Quds city, the Palestinian
issue, the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution of Iran (1979), and
the auspicious birth anniversary of the Noblest Messenger of Allah Hadhrat
Muhammad, whose birth time provided the theme for calling the week as week
of unity among Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei then spoke to the audience and attached significance
to the role and function of poetry in the current developments worldwide.
"Muslim poets are expected to play a role in the great Islamic
Awakening process through making instructive and inspirational works," the
Islamic Revolution Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said relevant poetical works must thematically be
helpful in enhancing levels of political awareness and foresight among the
Islamic ummah.
The IR Leader said the poetical content must be calibrated in such ways
as to duly address the sublime original aspirations and destinations of
the immense revolutionary change and help single out the potential range
of enemies or impediments ahead.
Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the poets to diligently address in their
works the role of religion, faith in God and Koranic teachings in
advancing the Islamic Awakening movement "because any movement that relies
on religious faith would be rendered invulnerable and sustainable."
Ayatollah Khamenei called the ongoing movement a genuine, Islamic
awakening process brought about after years of insightful political and
social experiences and profound understanding on the part of the Arab
nations "and for the same reason, the term "Arab Spring" is lacking in
describing the great movement."
"The movement is never to perish and, in God's Order, it will continue
until it changes the history of the Islamic ummah," the Islamic Revolution
Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said.
"The movement signifies a landmark historical event that will bring
about an immense change in the Islamic ummah," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader then called on the Muslim poets to mind the issue of
unity among Muslims. "The re are massive efforts at work aiming to divide
Muslims in a final bid to tear apart the great Islamic Awakening movement;
the Muslim ummah must stem the roots of any religious, sectarian or
political discord," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
As a word of conclusion, the Islamic Revolution Leader offered a tip
about the significant function of lexis and form in the art of poetry.
"Solid and elegant lexes and forms must be adopted in poem writing; this
way, poems remain endurable and inspirational for so long years."

Iran will stand by and support any nation or group that chooses to stand
up to Zionist regime.
"We will continue to support any nation or group that fights or
confronts the Zionist regime and we are not afraid of saying this,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said in the Friday prayers sermons in Tehran.
The Leader rejected Iran's interference in the affairs of regional
countries, including Bahrain, and said Iran only had a role in the fight
against Zionist regime during the 33-day war Zionist war on Lebanon and
Tel Aviv's 22-day war against Gaza which both resulted in the regime's
defeat.
"The Zionist regime is a cancerous tumor that must be removed, and God
willing it will be," he said.
Referring to US threats that it will use all options against Iran over
its nuclear program, the Leader said that such threats indicate US failure
to adopt a logic al stance towards Iran.
"The US has no logic but coercion and no option but bloodshed to
advance its agenda," Islamic Revolution Leader added.
The Leader said that Iran will respond to US threats with threats of
its own when and if necessary.
"In response to threats of oil embargo and war, we have our own threats
which will be implemented at the right time, if necessary," Islamic
Revolution Leader said.
“Threat to war would disfavor the US itself; the war would be ten times
against interests of the US itself,” Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that Allah’s will backs the awakening of
nations as the current century belongs to Islam and nations and would
affect destiny of entire humanity.
Islamic Revolution Leader dismissed claims that Iran interfered in
Bahrain affairs adding that, "Had we interfered in the country’s (Bahrain)
affairs, the situation would have been vice versa."
Ayatollah Khamenei said t he US threats are sign of its failure in the
face of the Islamic Republic’s discourse.
“That’s why it (the US) resorts to force,” declared the Ayatollah in
