Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in an
after-Eid-ul-Fitr-prayers ceremony said religious holidays especially the
Eid ul-Fitr provide a nice opportunity to examine the capacities of the
Islamic Ummah and specify its vulnerabilities, adding that the Islamic
Ummah at present was in immediate need of a return to the direct path of
divinity and the rule of Islam.
IRI authorities, ambassadors of Islamic countries as well as Iranian
people from different walks of life were present at the ceremony.
"Today the immediate need of Islamic Ummah and Muslim governments is to
return to the direct path of God and rule of Islamic doctrine as well as
to utilize their ample geopolitical capacities in a united manner in the
face of the enemies until the Ummah attains an apex of dignity and power,"
the IR Leader urged.
Ayatollah Khamenei called the Iranian nation a model in this regard,
adding that while the deposed, betrayer regime of Pahlavi was once in the
chain of supporters of Zionist regime, the Iranian nation thank to the
Islamic Revolution is now taking pride in its perseverance against the
bully conduct of the most impudent arrogance in the world and history.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian nation has got a say in modern
scientific fields and significant political equations thank to the rule of
Islam in Iran.
"The Islamic Establishment of Iran never claims to enjoy a fullblown
rule of Islamic statute however the more the Iranian nation has
accomplished to exercise Islamic rules the more it has cherished its
related fruits. This is a practical model for the Islamic Ummah,"
Ayatollah Khamenei recommended.
The IR Leader then deplored that there was a lack of integrity among
the Islamic nations and governments, adding that given the Islamic Ummah
was united and exhausted all its geopolitical capacities, the Palestinian
people and the Gaza residents would not suffer the present plight and t he
bullies could not impose their desires on the Islamic governments.
"At this situation, even if a word of protest is leveled at the Usurper
Zionists, the enemy would unleash a flood of charges against the source
through its propaganda tools haranguing 'there are some who seeks to
destroy a UN member state'," Ayatollah Khamenei regretted.
"The Zionist regime is a fake regime which has annihilated a nation
however human rights claimants have closed their eyes at the flagrant
oppressions," Ayatollah Khamenei regretted.
The Islamic Revolution Leader then rejected the Western media's false
claims that the Islamic Republic was seeking to destruct the Zionist
regime by military equipments, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran
has long put forward a logical and human initiative for the Palestinian
issue.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Islamic System of Iran was following a
Koran-based platform of defending innocent nations and individuals, adding
that the enmity of the ar rogant with the Islamic Republic stemmed from
the same reality.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the arrogant was following two major drives of
Islamophobia and Iranophobia in a bid to scuttle the unity and integrity
of the world of Islam.
"The US government during the previous presidential spell carried out
many efforts against Iran and the rest of Islamic world. The current
government unlike a batch of seemingly friendly remarks and statements is
seeking the same Islamophobic and Iranophobic policy," the IR Leader
cautioned.
Pointing to US claims about 'threat of Iranian missiles,' Ayatollah
Khamenei said "these are false claims which come within the framework of
the Iranophobic policy whereas the Iranian nation in the past thirty years
has never initiated an attack against any country".
"Iran follows a policy of friendly and brotherly interaction with
Islamic countries and neighbors and a precise and rational interaction
with those countries which have no aggressive mood towar ds the Islamic
Republic," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader noted however that the Islamic System would never remain
silent towards any aggression against the Iranian nation or government.
Ayatollah Khamenei also denounced the allegation that Iran was trying
to manufacture nuclear weapons as a despicable lie.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran based on an Islamic idea categorically
forbids the manufacturing and using of nuclear weapons and stays the idea.
US authorities too know the reality however they repeat the allegation
within the Iranophobic framework," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the US government to revise its policy adding
however that the Iranian nation is vigilantly watching the US enmities and
would stand up to them.
Ayatollah Khamenei also noted that the Islamic Republic would not climb
back even in the face of any aggression.
The IR Leader said Islam and Imam Khomeini's views recommend the nation
and the youths persevere against the enmities and utilize all capacities
at hand in accomplishing scientific progress and Islamic dignity, adding
that the audience has met the advice and would follow the suit in future.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution expresses gratitude to the people
of Iran for their high turnout in the Qods Day rallies despite world
powers' efforts to undermine the symbolic day.
Delivering a sermon on Islamic holiday of Eid al Fitron on Sunday,
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei described the day as 'a loud and clear shout
against the cancer of Zionism'.
On Friday, millions of Iranians rallied across the country including in
the Iranian capital chanting anti-Israeli slogans. The demonstrators
denounced Israel's aggression against Palestinians particularly the 22-day
deadly offensive and the long-imposed siege on the Gaza strip.
The leader referred to the 'conspiracies of the arrogant powers' to
weaken the Qods Day among Muslims in recent years saying that the massive
rallies were indicative of the fact that those efforts were futile.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Qods day rallies proved once again that the
Islamic Umma does not accept tyranny.
Regarding the latest political developments in the county, the Leader
warned against accusing certain figures of committing unlawful acts while
they are absent and not capable of defending themselves.
"It should be noted that what was aired on state television from recent
court sessions in which defendants accused others who were not present of
wrongdoings…this is not reliable…whatever the suspect says about himself
in the court session can be reliable…but if it is about someone else it is
not dependable," explained Ayatollah Khamenei.
Referring to the Western approach in dealing with the post-vote
developments, the leader accused Western media of having hidden political
agendas with regards to Iran, explaining that foreigners have never had
any "sympathy" for the Iranian society.
"When have they [foreigners] sought to clarify facts about us that they
do in the recent chain of events?"
The Leader also warned domestic media to apply vigilance in dealing
with foreign-led efforts to spread destabilizing rumors.
"The media should refrain from publicizing allegations leveled by
foreign media against certain individuals in the country accusing them of
betrayal and other wrongdoings... This would not be acceptable," said the
Leader.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution,
says the establishment welcomes constructive criticism within the
guidelines of the establishment.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the
Iranian establishment can tolerate differences of opinion but will
confront threats against its security.
"Those who clash with the establishment and turn their backs on the
Islamic establishment become enemies," said Ayatollah Khamenei, who is
also the leader of Tehran's Friday prayers.
"Of course, if someone has a different opinion but leaves the system to
itself, then the establishment has nothing against him or her."
The establishment has to deal with those who threaten security, under
the guise of seeking the revolution's principles. The revolutionary
principles are not a matter of taste, Ayatollah Khamenei added.
The Leader said a harsh answer awaits anyone who dares to draw a sword
against the Islamic Republic, maintaining that the establishment has a
right to defend itself.
Ayatollah Khamenei added that even figures with revolutionary
backgrounds must not let their differences of opinion lead to conflict and
warned political movements against trying to undermine the pillars of the
establishment.
Iran's most senior official then went on to urge piety, advising the
people and the country's top figures to avoid corruption as it can alter
their hearts and turn them against the system.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the establishment must retain its Islamic
qualities, and not turn into a "fake" Islamic Republic that is "secular"
at heart.
Positive movements are those that push the country toward growth,
justice and religious values while negative ones are those that try to
create economic gaps, spread impiety and give into foreign pressure, said
the Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemy will become bolder if Iran retreats
from its various rights, including the nuclear stance.
The West accuses Iran of seeking nuclear weaponry. Iran, however, says
it seeks civilian applications of the technology and has called for the
removal of all weapons of mass destruction around the globe.
The Leader also said that the Islamic Republic is proud to have the
Zionist regime as an enemy, while faithful and oppressed nations are
Iran's friends.
Finally, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the upcoming demonstration on
Al-Quds Day must focus on its core issue, which is the Palestinian plight,
adding that the establishment would not allow the demonstration to be used
as an opportunity to create division.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution says the Iranian nation proved the
'republican' nature of the country through their 85-percent turnout in the
presidential election.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called for "the true understanding of the
messages, which the presence of 40 million people in the [June 12
presidential] vote and the election of the president with 25 million votes,
send."
"If the intellectuals and political elites in the country truly
understand those messages, a lot of problems and deadlocks will be
resolved," said the Leader in a Monday meeting with the members of the 9th
and 10th Iranian government.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the 85 percent turnout of people in the
election had "hammered the enemies of the revolution."
"The nation and the Islamic Revolution have proven their republican
nature [through the election]."
"The comments of presidential hopefuls on their obedience to Islam, the
Revolution and [its late founder] Imam Khomeini's path show that the
nation is leaning toward [those concepts], so they (the defeated
candidates) attempt to portray themselves as followers of Imam [Khomeini]
and the Revolution."
The leader also called on the new administration of President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad to "thoroughly observe the law", adding that any breach of law
by the administration would lead to "the defiance of law" in the society.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the government should "pay attention to
benevolent criticisms" leveled by its opponents.
"There is domestic criticism backed by foreign media with destructive
intentions but there is also benevolent criticism which may not come from
supporters of the government but they come with the best of intentions,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Leader urged President Ahmadinejad and his cabinet to pay attention
to "the advices of religious authorities and religious scholars" in
fulfillment of their duties.
"Prominent cleric figures in different parts of the country and
religious schools are supporters of the Islamic establishment and they are
aware of the government's efforts in serving the country. Therefore their
advices are based on compassion and empathy and should be prized."
Ayatollah Khamenei also recommended the president and his cabinet to
welcome the criticisms of university elites, saying the move will help the
executive body to be further strengthened in the face of problems.
The Leader also urged the government to avoid vanity which may lead to
"several deviations and downfalls."
Ayatollah Khamenei says "having faith in God and consolidation of body
and spirit are important elements in tackling problems."
The Leader urged the new government to follow up the past
administration's priorities such as "justice, fighting corruption,
supporting the weak people and leading simple lives."
Ayatollah Khamenei also touched on the issue of the economy and
asserted that establishing justice would be achieved through the fair
redistribution of wealth in the country.
The Leader said the newly-installed Ahmadinejad government should move
to refurbish Iran's economy and reduce inflation.
"We should devise a plan to reduce the pressure of inflation on the
people," the Leader added.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says
the repeated US failures in different countries and the loss of its
influence both indicate the undeniable fact of world change.
"The US had far greater failures in the Islamic Republic of Iran than
in Iraq, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Palestine," said Ayatollah Khamenei in a
meeting with visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Sunday.
The Leader touched upon changing the situation in Latin America and
said, "A power has been formed in this region which was once regarded by
the US as its courtyard."
Iran and Venezuela should make efforts to prepare the grounds for
strengthening their independence, said the Leader.
"Along with political coordination, Iran and Venezuela should enhance
industrial, economic, banking and transportation cooperation," Ayatollah
Khamenei added.
Tehran and Caracas had previously signed an array of agreements,
pledging to work together in oil exploration, building low-income housing
and assembling tractors and bicycles as well as military projects among
other ventures.
Chavez, who is on his seventh official visit to Iran, hailed positive
talks between the high-ranking Venezuelan delegation and Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad and other senior Iranian officials.
The Venezuelan president, a vocal critic of the global capitalistic
system, said that enhanced cooperation and unity between the two countries
would be the only way to fight against enemy plots.
Venezuela has been a vociferous defender of Iran and its nuclear
program as Western countries, spearheaded by the US, accuse Iran of
pursuing a nuclear weapons program and demand a halt to the country's
uranium enrichment activities.
Tehran, however, denies all such allegations and has called for the
removal of weapons of mass destruction from across the globe.
The Venezuelan president visited Libya, Algeria and Syria before coming
to Iran. He is also scheduled to go to Belarus, Russia, Turkmenistan and
Spain after his Tehran visit.
