break deadline in the Islamic system."
Pointing to the legal and formal form of the Islamic system in the
frame of the Constitution, Ayatollah Khamenei added," the legal form
includes legal and formal parts of the system and the least condition for
preserving the Islamic system is maintaining this legal form. This is a
necessary condition but not enough."
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that preserving and strengthening the
principals and content of the Islamic system were the sufficint conditions
for preserving the Islamic system and said," If these principals were
ignored it is possible that some gradual and hidden changes would take
place and the Islamic system would be deviated. Sometimes even the elites
would not notice the gradual deviation."
Ayatollah Khamenei termed the formal shape of the Islamic system as
hardware part of the system and said," The software of the Islamic system
which are intellectual directions, main criteria and principal slogans of
the Revolution are the most important issue for preservation of the system
23.8.2008
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Khamenei in a
meeting today with the president and his cabinet members described
commitment, adhering to the slogans and principles of Imam Khomeini (r.a.)
and the Revolution, and forming close bonds with the public as three
prominent characteristics of the current administration and reiterated: "The
fourth decade of the Revolution marks the promotion of justice and
progress in the country, and this should act as the criterion for future
plans and efforts."
Referring to the prominent characteristics of the administration,
Ayatollah Khamenei described commitment as the first prominent
characteristic of the current administration and added: "Being active,
vigorous, and serious in rendering services to the nation is one of the
most important and valuable characteristics of the this administration."
Ayatollah Khamenei further added: "The administration still enjoys this
prominent characteristic after the passage of three years, and the
president's trips to different provinces across the country are one the
manifestations of this reality."
Ayatollah Khamenei described the correspondence between the slogans and
principles of the administration and those of Imam Khomeini (r.a.) and the
Revolution as the second prominent characteristic of the administration
and described restoring "national grandeur and independence" to the nation
as one praiseworthy measure of the administration.
His Eminence added: "Believing and taking pride in the nation's
identity and grandeur is the basis of the independence of all nations."
His Eminence described persisting with the nuclear energy plan as one
of the manifestations of defending the nation's identity and reiterated: "Some
bullying powers and their mercenaries tried to impose their will on the
Iranian nation, but the nation, the president, and the cabinet members
opposed these expansionist powers and made progress."
Ayatollah Khamenei described opposing and not yielding to global
bullying powers as one of the manifestations of adhering to the slogans
and principles of the Revolution and reiterated: "The arrogant powers have
a lot of weaknesses, and by exposing these weaknesses, the bullying powers
should be made to capitulate. And this is something the administration is
well capable of."
Ayatollah Khamenei described "being democratic" as the third prominent
characteristic of the administration and added: "Your dignity lies in
living an austere life and keeping in touch with the nation on a regular
basis. And the manifestation of these characteristics in the behavior of
the president and the cabinet members has won the trust of the nation and
resulted in uprooting extravagant lifestyles."
His Eminence referred to supporting all Islamic Republic
administrations as one of his policies, and a principle that was also
observed by Imam Khomeini (r.a.). He added: "The executive branch
shoulders a heavy burden in the management of the country, and it is due
to this reason that previous administrations were also supported. But the
distinguishing characteristics of the current administration have resulted
in stronger support and more optimism about the measures taken by the
current administration."
Ayatollah Khamenei also stated that supporting the administration does
not mean ignoring its weaknesses and added: "Of course, the current
administration needs to reflect on certain issues and take certain
measures."
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei clarified his demands of
the administration. Emphasizing the need for obeying the law by the
administration officials, he added: "The laws that are passed in
accordance with the constitution should always be obeyed, unless they are
changed."
His Eminence further added: "The administration might find faults with
certain legislation processes, but this issue does not fall within its
realm of duties, and the administration officials should obey the law even
if they believe in certain shortcomings in a particular law."
Ayatollah Khamenei described collaboration with the legislative and
judiciary branches and organized collaboration with the elites as other
duties of the administration and added: "The opinions of the elites and
the capacities of all people should be properly utilized."
His Eminence also urged the administration officials to pay continuous
attention to promoting scientific and technological activities in the
country and added: "Culture is of paramount importance, and the
administration officials should constantly pay serious attention to it."
His Eminence described constructive criticism as a kind of service and
denigration as betrayal of the government and the nation. He expressed his
sorrow at the denigration leveled at the current administration disguised
as constructive criticism and added: "Denying the strengths, magnifying
the weaknesses, and constant insulting are denigration, not criticism."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution touched upon increasing
criticisms normally leveled at different administrations during the last
year of their term, further reiterating: "Of course, the current
administration has been subject to a greater deal of denigration, and it
has been castigated both nationally and internationally."
Ayatollah Khamenei said that there are a range of motives behind the
denigration: "Some of these people do not denigrate the administration out
of spite. Rather, their denigration is either ill-informed or uninformed.
There are some others who do so with underlying personal motives. Still,
there are others who were either reluctant to accept the leadership of
Imam Khomeini (r.a.) or broke ranks with the Revolution later on. And the
last group are those who are spitefully denigrating the current
administration."
His Eminence stressed that the administration must pay attention to
expert criticisms. "Of course, the administration must avoid adopting
insulting stances. It must prevent uproar on the part of those who
denigrate them," he noted.
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution described spirituality and
rationality as necessary for the administration of justice. He added: "If
we want our dear Iran to be a model for other countries, we must pay full
attention to justice as well as progress."
Ayatollah Khamenei also touched upon the plan for economic overhaul as
one of the great deeds of the current administration. He described the
general outline of the plan as acceptable: "You must make sure to carry
out this extremely important plan, but it is absolutely necessary to avoid
haste."
He said that the appropriate implementation of this plan is a long step
towards progress. His Eminence also warned that hasty implementation of
the plan would result in dangerous outcomes. He added: "If the
implementation of a specific part of this plan is predicted to lead to
inflation, it is necessary to take appropriate measures to avoid inflation
and prevent the consequences."
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the administration to make more serious
efforts to control the inflation and described these efforts as a public
demand of the administration: "Of course, global inflation, drought, and a
number of other factors have contributed to the current inflation rates.
But there are other factors which the administration can manipulate to
help reduce inflation. The reduction in inflation rates will make the
effects of the administration's services more tangible to the public."
Ayatollah Khamenei also expressed his gratitude to the president, his
cabinet members, and other staff of the executive branch and added: "The
opportunity to serve the public is a divine grace, and this opportunity
ought to be appreciated through more efforts and service."
The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution also expressed his
appreciation of the report presented by Mr. Ahmadinejad and added: "Obtaining
the satisfaction of God is the final goal of all efforts. But providing
the public with accurate information about the efforts and accomplishments
is absolutely necessary, and it is necessary to make further efforts in
this respect
Imam of Age will reappear
to rescue human community
17.8.2008
Mid-Shabaan, the birthday of Hazrat Mahdi, the hidden Shii Imam and the
eventual savior of the world, truly constitutes a day of hope in a bright
and rosy future, Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei
said Sunday.
Speaking to cultural counsellors, directors of Education Ministryand
ordinary people, Ayatollah Khamenei congratulated the auspicious birth
anniversary to all the faithful and free men in the world.
The twelfth Shii Imam currently lives in a state of occultation since
874 A.D. upon a Divine command and would reappear some day when God deems
appropriate to administer justice throughout the world.
Ayatollah Khamenei said by the concept of Intizar-e Faraj (to wait for
the Savior to reappear and tackle global problems) it was meant to
preserve individual preparedness in every respect and advance the cause of
justice.
The IR Leader noted that all religions, Divine or else, have carried
the sort of glad tidings for justice-hungry human namely that an
administrator of justice would come to rescue.
"The sort of glad tidings embodies the fact that the battle of truth
and falsehood will culminate in favor of the forces of truth after
Promised Mahdi reappears. That time, the human being would experience his
favorable life," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the notion of Intizar in Shiism is a
reality instead of a false dream or a purely conceptual notion, adding
that there are many evidence to prove that the deputy of God (Imam Mahdi)
is a genuine man who has been living a Divinely-protracted life among
other people and shares their grievances and woes.
"Intizar in true terms means to denounce the present bully status quo
in the world and wait for a turnabout in the living conditions of the
humanity at large."
"The Imam of Age will reappear to rescue human community and transform
the present, whimsically-driven global unfair system into a fair system,"
Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the existence of over two billion starved
people across the globe as well as the relentless pressures on the nations,
adding that the Iranian nation which has hoisted the flag of justice
endures pressures of superpowers. "The reality bears testimony to the fact
that the bully-weary world has thirst for the breeze of justice."
"Intizar never connotes to sit idle-by and pin hope in the date of
reappearance. Rather, an awaiting individual espouses the cause of justice
like a warrior and prepares the ground for the emergence of the powerful,
heavenly arm of the Imam of Age," the Islamic Revolution Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the emergence of the Islamic Republic as a
prelude to the landmark, global movement, adding that the Iranian nation
created an authentic ambience of Intizar by establishing the system and
proved it was a standby follower for the awaited Imam.
Ayatollah Khamenei however alerted people to beware against those
profiteers who abuse the notion of Intizar and fake connection with the
Imam in quest of profits.
"It is likely that some pure-hearted individuals find the capacity to
visit His Holiness. However, these individuals never relate their
experience," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei also noted the audience that the tenets of Shiism
were among the most rational ones, adding that the cultural associations
in home and abroad must try to acquire a fine understanding of the tenets
and duly convey them to other people.
The IR Leader also instructed the educationalists to train the heart
and soul of the youth through shrewd, well-thought methods.
Feeling of strength, key to
solving problems
12.8.2008
The
Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a
meeting with visiting Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and his
entourage underlined the importance of cooperation between Islamic
countries and making use of each others' facilities and capabilities.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran and Algeria enjoy many grounds for
cooperation and we hope that this trip would be an effective step towards
serious expansion of ties," Ayatollah Khamenei told President Bouteflika
on Tuesday.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also pointed to the developments
of the Islamic world and stressed: "The key to opening the lock of Islamic
countries' problems are feeling of strength of faith in the hearts of
people and officials in these countries and their resistance."
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the nations' historical experience to
regain their rights and added: "The experiences of Algeria, North Africa
and also that of Iran show that the nations' insistence on their rights
was fruitful."
Underlining that governments as representatives of nations should
seriously seek their rights, he said: "The Iranian people and the
officials of the Islamic system, because of their resistance against the
system of hegemony have gained many achievements despite pressures,
threats and sanctions."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution pointed to the scientific and
technological achievements of Iranian youth and stressed: "All theses
achievements have been gained in circumstances of sanctions against the
Islamic Republic of Iran while these sanctions have ended in favor of the
Iranian people and the Islamic system."
Ayatollah Khamenei called the successes of the Palestinian people and
the establishment of the Islamic Resistance Movement's (Hamas) popular
government in Palestine and the political and military victories of the
Islamic resistance in Lebanon as results of faith and resistance.
"If a nation was not sensitive to its natural and indisputable rights
and did not seek them, definitely its rights would be violated," Ayatollah
Khamenei added.
In this meeting that was also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad,
the Algerian President pointed to his negotiations in Tehran and hoped
that this meeting would pave the way for serious expansion of ties between
Tehran and Algiers.
The Algerian President also pointed to the developments of the Arab and
Islamic worlds and stressed that Muslim nations should make efforts to
achieve their rights.
Ambassadors required to
mirror IRI's grandeur
9.8.2008
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei noted a
convention of IRI's foreign diplomacy officials that the apparatus was
required to convey the ever-increasing dignity of the Iranian nation in
correct terms.
Ayatollah Khamenei said foreign diplomacy was the field of both
opportunities and challenges, adding that it was wrong to think everything
was in order when one finds no palpable challenge in the way because in
the current bully-ruled system of the world, the Islamic system and the
Iranian nation would naturally face challenges as they are treading an
independent track.
The IR Leader noted that the Islamic System had made large, incredible
headways in the past thirty years despite a raft of stiff challenges.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian national grandeur would take boost
from the triple factors of keeping national unity, sticking to
revolutionary platform, and making accomplishments in science and
technology.
"National unity has taken place in true terms in the country. People
have got united both with one another and with their authorities. This
national unity is a rare phenomenon in the world," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader then noted that that the nation had
become morally boosted by sticking to the revolutionary platform.
He also touched on a scientific movement underway in the country,
saying that some of the Iranian scientific findings were formerly in
monopoly of certain countries.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Islamic System had grown more popular
especially as the Islamic thought was growingly expanding throughout the
world and the doctrine of resistance had managed to beat the world
hegemony in Lebanon and the occupied Palestine.
"At present, such terms as 'regional power ' or 'regional superpower'
are applied to describe Iran. The reality further helps prove that the
Islamic system has been advancing thank to its revolutionary platform,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei instructed the foreign diplomacy officials to mirror
the dignity and headways and use them to serve the national interests,
adding that the job would demand the foreign ministry authorities to
undertake prudence and bravery and that the ambassadors were heavily
duty-bound as the forerunners of the diplomatic mission.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the foreign diplomacy officials must have
firm belief in the platform of the Islamic System and strive to advance
the cause, adding that the world of Islam was a diplomatic priority for
the Islamic Iran.
Ayatollah Khamenei also encouraged the foreign authorities to abandon
fear in their mission and know that their mission would produce ultimate
result.
The IR Leader instructed the ambassadors to contact the influential and
elite figures overseas and raise the thoughts and stance of the Islamic
System with them in clear terms.
"The IRI's initiative in the Palestinian issue for instance is among
the strongest initiatives. Iran believes the Palestinian fate must be
determined by the original inhabitants of the land including Muslims,
Christians or Jews until a state is established based on their choice and
vote," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the IRI ambassadors were the delegates of a
nation which produced an exceptional, 8-year defense against the world
powers and ultimately got triumphed, adding that the senior envoys must
represent the bright prospects of the Iranian nation

Khamenei, in his address to a gathering of senior officials as well as
ambassadors and representatives of Islamic countries on the auspicious day
of Mab'ath, the day, God Almighty formally appointed Prophet Mohammad (blessings
of God upon him and his family) as the Last Messenger to mankind, termed
the 27th of Rajab as a memorable day in history. He said the holy
Prophet's lessons and messages should be taken into consideration. He said:
"The holy Prophet started his invitation in a community in which negative
attributes prevailed. The Prophet revolutionized the society and instilled
faith, virtue, knowledge and justice. He practically demonstrated how to
confront the bullies and arrogant elements of his time, who had a
stranglehold on people's life and property. He was the Messenger of mercy,
ethics, affection, peace and magnanimity. The Leader of the Islamic
Revolution said that within a fairly short period the Prophet made the
Muslims torchbearers of spirituality and civilization.
Ayatollah Khamenei considered one of the major factors in gaining
access to this historical human success to be the Prophet's resistance and
persistence against problems and his reliance on God. Ayatollah Khamenei
recalling the advice of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (PBUH) to
one of his sons, Mohammad al-Hanafiyya, said: mountains might be shaken
and removed from their place but you should keep firm." Thus according to
Ayatollah Khamenei one of the important messages behind the ordainment of
the holy Prophet of Islam is resistance against the enemies of Islam, as
explained by his divinely-decreed vicegerent, Imam Ali (PBUH).
The victory of the Islamic revolution of Iran in the present era is
actually the triumph of humanitarian values as taught by the Prophet. In
this regard, Ayatollah Khamenei paid tribute to the Father of the Islamic
Revolution, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace), saying: "In our
revolution, first the Imam himself set the practical example by relying
upon God firmly standing against evil and arrogant powers. The youths
observing his steadfastness were inspired and rallied behind him. It was
because of these factors that God granted victory and tranquility to the
Iranian people. The Islamic Republic of Iran, by following the path of the
late Imam has adopted the way of resistance.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to another issue regarding the
characteristic of world arrogance and that is ambition. For, arrogance is
never to stay within its limits. It always seeks to weaken Muslims. In
this regard, he noted that the nature of the arrogant powers requires that
if you take a step back they will take a step ahead. No one should think
that withdrawal against arrogance and turning away from justice would make
the arrogant powers remorseful. If you retreat from a bunker, the arrogant
will take it. The Muslim Ummah should view the issues in this way. In
conclusion, the Leader of the Islamic R\evolution pointed to the
achievements of the Iranian nation against the ambitions of world
arrogance led by the US. He said the great progresses achieved by the
Iranian people are all the result of resistance. This is the lesson of
Mab'ath. We should all know and understand this. We should get familiar
with the Prophet's life. We should know that 27th Rajab was the day of
ordainment of the holy Prophet and today is the ordainment of the Muslim
Ummah.
