The
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei,
has stressed that the Islamic republic of Iran's opposition to hegemony
and domination by major world powers has been a historic move which has
led to a fundamental shift in the Middle East, to the detriment of
hegemonic powers and to the benefit of regional countries. Addressing tens
of thousands of pilgrims (who have come to visit the Holy shrine of Imam
Reza (Peace be upon Him), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims), in the holy
city of Mashhad, in north eastern Iran on Thursday, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali
Khamenei emphasized that the middle east, which was once under the
influence of hegemonic powers led by United States, has today been
transformed into a "public exhibition of America's failures and defeats".
Elsewhere in his remarks the Supreme Leader praised the nation for
enduring western pressure since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, adding that
Iran's tremendous scientific and technological progress has been achieved
despite Western pressures and conspiracies. He stressed that Iran's
enemies, notably the Zionist network and the United States, today are
detested and isolated within the international community, with their
policies in Middle East a complete failure. The Supreme Leader said the
international community is well aware that the US allegations against Iran
are baseless. Referring to America's claims about championing human rights,
the Supreme Leader pointedly remarked that according to US government's
own figures, the phone calls and e-mails of some 32 million American
citizens have been monitored during the past 6 years, and the US president
has vetoed legislation seeking to outlaw or limit torture. Given these
facts, the Supreme Leader asked, how can the US government claim to
champion human rights? Turning to American and Western claims about
supporting democracy, The Supreme Leader said these claims are patently
false since whenever and wherever the United States does not like the
democratic choice of voters, it ignores or opposes the results of those
democratic elections; an excellent case in point being the
democratically-elected popular Hamas government in Palestine. Emphasizing
that the Americans and Zionists are hostile towards all Muslims, both
Shiites and Sunnis, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said a good example of
this hostility can be seen in the global arrogance's opposition to the
Hezbollah movement in Lebanon, and its opposition to the Palestinian
Islamic jihad movement , and Hamas in Palestine. He added that the Islamic
"Ummah" and intellectuals should be acutely aware of this fact, and work
towards Muslim unity, and avoiding divisions, at all times.
In further remarks Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei called on Muslim
nations to take a firm stand against those who out of their hostility
towards Islam violate religious sanctities.

Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Thursday called the new Iranian year as the year of
"innovation and prosperity." In a televised address immediately after
start of the New Year, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the nation to focus on
innovation under sound management. The Supreme Leader congratulated
Iranian nation and Muslims on three auspicious occasions, including birth
anniversaries of the Holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) and of
his grandson Imam Jaafar Sadeq (AS) as well as the advent of the
traditional Iranian Noruz celebrations, marking start of the New Iranian
Year. Ayatollah Khamenei wished Iranian nation further prosperity and
success in the year.

the wake of the Saturday atrocious attacks by the Zionist regime against
the Gaza Strip in which dozens of innocent people, including children fell
martyrs, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei the Leader of the Islamic
Revolution issued a message Sunday evening.

Great Islamic Umma,
Dear Iranian nation,
The bloody events in Gaza are so gory and heartrending that it could
not be conveyed through pen or tongue. The innocent children or innocent
women and men having already endured months of hermetic siege are now
slain in their homes; before the eyes of their parents the blossoming
children are perishing in the rancorous blaze of callous usurpers, ditto
parents before the eyes of their innocent children whereas those who
profess civilization and humanity have sat watching the colossal human
tragedy with ultimate audacity, even some sit pleased with impudence.
The world of Islam is by no means excused to remain tight-lipped
towards the rare atrocity. The Islamic umma is expected to generate waves
of wrath and the Islamic leaders must slap the wrath of their nations in
the face of the Zionist regime. The hands of the American government are
soaked with the blood of the innocent Palestinian people. This is the
support of the arrogant and rogue state which has emboldened the Zionists
to commit the unforgivable crimes. The Islamic nations and governments
must make the voice of the innocent Palestinians heard throughout the
world and let their reposing consciousness wake up.
Has the American nation realized that their authorities have sacrificed
all human sanctities for the sake of the Zionists? Have the European
nations got aware how far their politicians have gone under the reign of
the Zionist capitalists?
It is not accidental that in simultaneity with those military
ferocities, the most sacred Islamic sanctities are left at the mercy of
profanity in some other corner of the arrogance-dominated areas of the
world. There certain malicious pens backed by some devil policies are
insulting the Mercy for the World People (a title for Hazrat Muhammad S.A.)
to whom, the venerable, and to his Divine message the whole human being is
indebted.
Yes. The holy Islam by its freeing message and anti-oppression note
could resurrect dignity in the nations, setting off alarm in the midst of
the domineering powers and triggering fire of rancor in their hearts
against the Muslim nations depicted in their wayward moves.
The rogue dominance-seekers should mind that they are not able to put
out the ever-lightening flame of Islamic awakening through savagery or
violence. The epic resistance of the Palestinian nation and the stunning
valiance of their men and women, both young and old, in the face of the
blood-thirsty Zionists provides evidence to that claim.
The ultimate result of the conflict would be the triumph of the truth
over the false as He said 'then We took vengeance upon those who committed
crimes; and it was ever a duty incumbent upon Us to help the believers'
(30:47).
I offer greetings to the Gaza people, to its innocent and persevering
men and women, to its naÜve children and to the withered blossoms. I pray
God to confer patience and deliverance on them and make them the victors.
