TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (IranDaily) -Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah
Seyyed Ali Khamenei said the country’s prospects are bright and promising.
Addressing a gathering of several thousand students and members of
Basij (volunteer forces) on Wednesday, the leader said Iran’s dignity,
independence and strength depend on boosting might, religious faith and
scientific efforts in tandem with the initiatives of every individual,
especially the youth, IRNA reported.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the need for national solidarity and
unity between the nation and government.
“The Iranian nation has already paid a hefty price for its independence
and dignity during the eight-year Iraq-imposed war (1980-88) and the
Iranian youths are proponent of dignity and independence of Islamic
nations. So, Iran’s status and prestige are incomparable to the past,“ he
said.
The leader noted that the US opposition to Iranian nuclear program is
because it is an example of progress and the US does not like to see the
Iranian nation advance.
“A nation acquiring scientific power can no longer be bullied,“ he said.
Ayatollah Khamenei rejected allegations about Iranian complicity in the
killing of US troops as “a great lie“ and said it is madness on the part
of the US administration to send US troops to an abyss.
The leader strongly dismissed US allegations about the death of US
troops and said the US administration is under fire in the international
community for its wrong policy, so it is accusing Iran in desperation.
Pointing out that the US is responsible for lack of security in the
Middle East and intervention in Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine, he said,
“Nations are aware of the US administration’s practices and US officials
face public protest wherever they visit. It is a clear example of their
isolation in the international community.“
In another development, the leader of the Islamic Revolution sent a
message of condolences on Wednesday on the sad demise of Iranian poet,
Qeisar Aminpour.
Aminpour, 48, passed away Monday night at a hospital in northern Tehran
of a heart attack.
In his message, Ayatollah Khamenei said Aminpour’s departure was a
“great loss“ for Iran’s literary community.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei assured a large
gathering of school and university students Wednesday that the country is
marching towards a bright future, adding however that the path of national
dignity and grandeur would be covered by faith and creative knowledge as
well as the nation-government un animity.
Ayatollah Khamenei marked the historical events taken place on Nov 4
over years, including the 1965 sending to exile of Imam Khomeini by the
ousted Pahlavid regime following his landmark speech against a
ratification that stipulated judicial immunity for American nations as
well as the tragic murders of school students in Tehran by US mercenaries
in 1978.
"The revolutionary and enthusiastic youths however delivered a tough
response to the bullying US government by their Nov 4, 1979 conquering of
its embassy which had already turned into a center for espionage,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader said the nations would determine their fate either by
submission to bully or by standing up to the domineering powers, adding
that the Iranian nation chose the latter and dealt a hard slap to the
domineering American government when the Islamic Revolution was triumphed
by the leadership of Imam Khomeini after years of US bully and humiliation.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the struggle against the Global Hegemony is not
over, adding that the arrogant powers never simply quit the battle. "However,
they will also make no advance in the face of the will of a nation."
Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on the costs the Iranian nation has
ever incurred to gain independence and dignity, not least the Eight Years
of Sacred Defense (1980-8) against the Western-backed Saddam Hussein
invasion of Iran, adding that the Iranian nation has achieved a sublime
position by passing through those events.
"Today, the Iranian nation and the Iranian youths have provided a
source of inspiration for the world of Islam and many other countries. The
position of the Islamic Iran is no longer comparable to past," Ayatollah
Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the university students to enhance their
spiritual and mental qualities and hold firm to the path of scientific
innovation. The IR Leader tapped the back of various research groups in
university and schools, of any name or title, and urged their associates
to promote their activities.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the untiring efforts of the scientific folds
construct an authentic Basij for the nation. The IR Leader defined Basij
as the responsible effort of every Iranian in the path of independence and
development of the country.
"Public Basij then would be the sustainable readiness of the people,
especially the youths and the authorities, for the prideful path whose
outcome would be to render the country and the nation invulnerable,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei then turned to the recent advances of the Iranian
nation in different spheres, especially in nuclear science and said that
the world arrogant powers, mainly America, have played discontent in the
nuclear issue because they are against the progress and scientific
strength of the Iranian nation.
"Scientific strength would help enhance confidence and faith in a
nation so that it would no longer be downtrodden," Ayatollah Khamenei
added.
Ayatollah Khamenei also rejected as shear lie the White House
allegations, hyped by US media, that 'Iran plays some role in the killings
of American troops in Iraq.'
"This is the myopic policies of America that has led to the killings of
its military forces. Even its own people have questioned the American
government over those policies. However, it cast the blame on Iran because
it has no answer to provide," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
"The nations too have realized. For that reason, everywhere the
American authorities tour they face massive protests from people. This
helps show that the arrogance has been isolated and debunked," Ayatollah
Khamenei added.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that the boldness and awareness of the
nations is a tribute to the standing up and resistance of the Iranian
nation, especially the Iranian youths.
"They held fast to the truth and the God conferred its blessings."

IRI
Army's academies staged a joint graduation ceremony Wednesday in the
Sattari Air Force Academy where platoons of cadets marched past the
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei.
Ayatollah Khamenei earlier stood in homage before the Martyrs Memorial
situated in the premises of the academy and then inspected the military
rite of passage.
The IR Leader extolled the national armed forces as the solid arm of
the nation and the country.
"Security and calm bring progress, spiritually and materially, to any
nation. Today, the Iranian nation enjoys a sublime national sentiment
owing to its powerful and alerted armed forces," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Commander-in-Chief recalled the memory of the gallant Iranian
military commanders of the eight years of Sacred Defense against the
Western-backed Saddam Hussein's war on Iran and appreciated them for
holding up to the last drop of their blood in defense of the country and
Islam.
"All the armed forces must follow those honorable and sincere
personalities," the IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei commemorated the memory of major general Mansour
Sattari, the founder of the academy, and underlined further expansion of
scientific courses in the Armed Forces academies.
"Armed forces scientific centers must vigorously undertake research,
innovation, and full discipline," Ayatollah Khamenei urged, adding that
the forces need to enhance their faith and morality above all.
In the beginning of the ceremony, Major General Salehi, the Army
Commander General, saluted the Commander-in-Chief and then Brigadier
Sheikh-hasani, who commands the Air Force academy briefed the IR Leader on
the activities and agendas of the military center.
Ayatollah Khamenei also handed citations or gifts to a number of
officers, military trainers, and elite cadets as well as several war
veterans, including the widow of the late Air Force major general Babai.
Ayatollah Khamenei also placed badge on the shoulders of several Airmen
who were representing the newly-recruited cadets.
At the end of the ceremony, the platoons of cadets marched past the
viewing stand where the Commander-in-Chief was standing alongside other
high-ranking military authorities.
The cadets then displayed their parade-ground skills.
Meanwhile, Ayatollah Khamenei told a group of Army's scientific elites
the same day that a scientific vigor which exists in the Iranian youths
manifests a Divine blessing and an achivement of the Islamic Revolution.
"Dignity, independence and lasting security march through the path of
science and this is an indisputable reality," Ayatollah Khamenei
underlined.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the necessity of a fast-track approach in
different scientific and technological spheres in the country, adding that
the Iranian researchers did not necessarily have to follow in the
footsteps of the advanced countries in order to achieve the same progress
as theirs.
"The elites and talented youths can make bright accomplishments and
outstanding progress through otherwise indigenous methods," Ayatollah
Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the relevant authorities to pay a special
attention to Armed Forces-related research issues and in the same ground
called on the Army and the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) to engage
in a joint research drive.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei welcomed the
Russian President's declaration of Moscow resolve for expanding the
bilateral relations with Tehran to unlimited levels adding that the
expansion would prove beneficial to both nations.
Ayatollah Khamenei told the visiting Vladimir Putin Tuesday night that
the two nations enjoy a variety of grounds to strengthen their mutual
bonds.
Ayatollah Khamenei was discontent about the present volumes of trade
exchanges between the two countries, noting that enhanced levels of trade
ties would serve the interests of both countries.
"A sovereign Iran is in the interest of Russia. At the same time, a
powerful Russia is in the interest of Iran," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader told Putin that the authentic source of
power for any country lies in the intrinsic strength of its nation, adding
that the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic have opted for
perseverance in defending its national interests because it is confident
the enemy transgression will never be quenched.
"On the same ground, the Iranian nation and government will keep the
aware and powerful logic and at the same time will avoid adventurism or
leaving any excuse to the enemy," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader then praised the Russian nation for their persevering
mood in many historical occasions.
"We have a bright and fine image from the Russian nation in our mind
which originates from the prudent resistance it has shown in different
junctures," Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated.
Ayatollah Khamenei then proscribed US transgressive and excuse-seeking
mood. "Americans keep dissent towards any country or government which
stands up to their illegitimate interests or acts independent from the
country. However, the nations could not be put down by such transgressions,"
Ayatollah Khamenei observed.
The IR Leader recalled the incessant US intimidation over the years
after the Islamic Revolution was triumphed in Iran, noting however that
the country has always harvested an otherwise reverse outcome.
"America has left no stone unturned to deal a blow to the Iranian
nation. However, its adventurism has been always working in the opposite
direction," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Concerning the nuclear issue, Ayatollah Khamenei underlined Iran's
familiar readiness for building confidence, adding that Iran's cooperation
with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will continue as a
rational and precise job.
"We are determined to satisfy our country's need to nuclear energy and
for the same reason we seriously hold to the enrichment issue," Ayatollah
Khamenei affirmed.
Concerning the idea of forming an organization in the nature of OPEC to
handle gas market affairs, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the good talks held
between the Russian side and the Iranian officials. The IR Leader
expressed hope the talks would help produce a brighter future in the two
countries' relations.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded his remarks by assuring Vladimir Putin
that the Iranian side would deliberate on the proposals and statements of
the visiting President delivered in his trip to Iran.
Vladimir Putin for his part described his talks with President Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad, who was also present in the meeting, as comprehensive and
excellent.
The Russian President said that in his Tehran talks more entente were
eyed by the two sides in terms of full-scale and unconstrained cooperation
in energy, transit, and aerospace.
"We developed a very bright perspective for the bilateral ties between
the two countries," Putin added.
The Russian President affirmed that a powerful and influential Iran was
in the interest of the Russian nation and that Moscow would consider no
limit in expanding relations with Tehran and would march ahead without
preservation.
"Russia have respect for Iran's position regarding nuclear issue and
considers peaceful use of nuclear energy as the right of the country. At
the same time, it opposes any coercion against Iran," Putin underlined.
Putin welcomed IRI-IAEA cooperation and said that Moscow would support
the initiative which Iran had taken
16.10.2007
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told the
visiting Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov Tuesday evening
that the Caspian Sea littoral states could strengthen their position by
broadening their mutual ties.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the historical and geographical
commonalities of the two countries of Iran and Turkmenistan, adding that
the grounds are more prepared than before for the two countries to broaden
their relations, especially in gas sector and trade.
"Cooperation of the five Caspian Sea littoral states can help transform
the region into an active and profitable zone for all these countries,"
Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov for his part recalled recommendations of the
Islamic Revolution Leader for further relations between the two countries
during a meeting held a few months ago, adding that since then
Turkmenistan Government had undertook all efforts to deepen the bilateral
relations.
Berdymukhamedov praised a letter of cooperation signed earlier in the
day to build a railroad connecting Iran, Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan as
indicative of a serious resolve on the part of the two countries to expand
relations in different spheres.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also attending the meeting
16.10.2007
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei urged the
visiting Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev Tuesday evening that the two
countries of Islamic Republic of Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan are
expected to deepen their ties beyond the present levels especially
considering the common culture, history and religion they share.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on oil and gas sectors as two grounds on
which the two sides can broaden their bilateral relations.
The IR Leader expressed consent over the favorable outcomes of the
summit of the Caspian Sea littoral states held earlier in the day, adding
that as much the Caspian Sea's littoral states broaden their mutual
relations, especially in economy, they serve the interests of all the five
littoral states.
Concerning a dissent kept by ultra-regional powers as well as the world
Zionists towards the cordial relations between the Islamic Republic of
Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan, Ayatollah Khamenei urged the Azeri
President to be wary of such provocations, noting however that the
political resolve of the Azeri government did point to its solid position
against the dissenters.
Ilham Aliyev for his part expressed deep pleasure with the meeting. The
Azeri President described Tehran talks and the final statement of Tehran
summit as excellent.
"Azerbaijan officials have an unwavering will to expand their fraternal
relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Azri government is fully
vigilant against the provocations of the dissenters of ties between the
two countries," Aliyev affirmed.
The Azeri President called the joint statement of Tehran Summit a great
accomplishment, adding that the statement would help bring the five
littoral states closer to each other.
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also attending the meeting
15.10.2007
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told the
visiting Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and his accompanying
delegation Monday evening that Iran and Kazakhstan enjoy good relations
while there are many capacities for them to broaden their bilateral ties.
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope the two countries would see their
relations further expanded especially after several constructive and
fruitful agreements reached earlier in the day are put to work.
Ayatollah Khamenei strongly stated that a fold of countries with common
interests would serve their grandeur by forming alliance.
The IR Leader described Kazakhstan as a great land with diversified
resources as well as many common grounds with Iran in terms of culture and
religion.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that both sides would take benefit from their
mutual bonds and that the Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes the expansion
of bilateral ties with Kazakhstan.
"Indeed some powers including America are against the expansion.
However, the Islamic Republic of Iran concerning the ties with different
countries only pays regard to its own interests as well as the interests
of the world of Islam and the regional nations," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei described the summit of the Caspian Sea littoral
states as a proper opportunity for the countries to deepen their bilateral
relations, adding that the Islamic Republic of Iran at the moment holds a
favorable position and has managed to accomplish excellent works despite
pressures from certain world powers.

Nursultan Nazarbayev for his part expressed deep consent over his
meeting with the Islamic Revolution Leader.
The Kazakh President evaluated his negotiations with his Iranian
counterpart earlier in the day as cordial and fruitful, adding that
Kazakhstan always wishes for broadened ties with the Islamic Republic of
Iran because it considers Iran a great and infl uential country in the
region.
He described Iran's stance on nuclear issue as logical, adding that all
countries are eligible to peaceful application of nuclear energy as a
scientific advance
13.10.2007
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Saturday morning
described the auspicious Eid al-Fitr occasion as a proper ground to
enhance unity and harmony of the Iranian nation as well as the world of
Islam, adding that Eid (day of joy) will be when the Islamic ummah leaves
schisms behind and marches towards dignity and strength hand in hand by
holding fast to Islamic teachings.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remakrs in a speech to an audience of
government authorities, ambassadors of the Islamic countries in Tehran as
well as people.
Ayatollah Khamenei highlighted the reality that the Iranian nation has
remained united despite a mosaic of sects and religions.
The IR Leader noted that in the past years the enemy has always tried
to undercut the Iranian unity by manipulating the potential sectarian or
religious affiliations but to no avail.
The IR Leader said political affiliations must not result in discord
taking into account the reality that the Iranians are united around the
common hinges of Islamic System, the dear Islam and the Holy Koran.
Ayatollah Khamenei appreciated the Iranian people for their vigilant
treatment of schisms by not letting political affiliations to turn into
discords as sought by enemy.
Ayatollah Khamenei considered the upcoming eight parliamentary
elections slated for late in the Iranian year as another opportunity for
the nation to stage unity, rationality and national understanding.
"The elections will help the society to further move forward provided
the political folds receive their proportionate share of elections in a
positive contest whose target is serving the people," Ayatollah Khamenei
said.
In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the transgressive and
meddlesome mood of the world bullying powers towards the Muslim affairs is
emboldened by the lack of unity among Muslims.
"Under these conditions, the American Senate allowed itself to vote to
disintegration of Iraq whereas the issue is none of America's business.
The Iraqi authorities and people too have pointed out their objection to
the decision and the world of Islam has too," the Islamic Revolution
Leader underlined.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the meddlesome attitude of the bullying powers
towards the Palestinian issue, of which a recent example emerged in US
decision for a so-called peace meeting, is emboldened by the same Muslim
disunity.
"Islamic nations and governments must come alongside each other to
prove their strength. If achieved, America and other countries no longer
dare meddle in the Muslim affair," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed the position of the Islamic Republic of
Iran regarding the Muslim unity.
The IR Leader noted that the enmity of the world arrogance stems from
the same position, adding that the arrogance has already saw its attempt
in failure and the case will produce the same outcomes in future.
13.10.2007
The great, faithful Iranian people staged the ceremonies of Eid al-Fitr
occasion Saturday nationwide, taking the opportunity to celebrate the
dignity of a nation. The spiritual ceremonies climaxed in congregational
prayers led by the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei
in Tehran's grand mosque, named after Imam Khomeini, with hundreds of
thousands of people in attendance.
The IR Leader in a two-part speech delivered after the prayers
congratulated the auspicious occasion to all Muslims worldwide, especially
the dear Iranian nation, adding that the day of joy offers the opportunity
to thank God for the blessings He conferred during the holy month of
Ramadan.
"The Iranian people, whatever their tastes, affiliations or appearances
managed to strike a brilliant performance by making effective use of God's
Banquet. The abundance of worship and humility to God is indeed
appreciable," Ayatollah Khamenei said. Ayatollah Khamenei lauded the
heart-bound faith of the Iranian nation as a large blessing and eminence,
urging the nation to preserve the instructive achievements of the holy
month and apply them to the entire life. Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the
people to revitalize the sweet taste of worship of God by enhancing their
connection to the Almighty.
As another gain of the holy month, Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the
throng of all people from different tastes or affiliations around the
single axis of monotheism, adding that directives never drive the nation's
unity rather it is religion which inspires the phenomenon. "This is
religious beliefs which draw the hearts towards one another, directs the
attentions to the Almighty and inspires a profound national unity. The
great blessing must be preserved," Ayatollah Khamenei urged. Ayatollah
Khamenei viewed "giving alms while getting tough on own self" as the next
blessed recommendation of the holy month of fasting, adding that the holy
month by nature urges the faithful to endure hunger and thirst while
making charitable donations.
Ayatollah khamenei regretted that the Iranian nation is indulgent in
life spending and criticized prevalent consumerism in society, urging the
nation to conventionalize mild and prudent spending as a segment of
national culture. Ayatollah Khamenei noted that provided the aspiration
was realized, the enemy's constant intimidation to impose sanctions would
turn null and void. In the second part of the post-prayers speech,
Ayatollah Khamenei highly appreciated the Iranian people for their massive
turnout in the World Qods Day ceremonies and called the effort
instrumental to manifest the national dignity and grandeur of the Islamic
Republic of Iran.
"The massive marches enlivened the image of Iran and Iranians and
proved once more that the nation runs in the vanguard of defending the
major right of the Islamic umma regarding the Palestinian issue,"
Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed. "Enemies of Islam try to make the global
public opinion forget the Palestinian issue. Nevertheless, the march of
the nations in the World Qods Day foils the big conspiracy and heartens
the wronged and lone Palestinian nation," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the Zionist regime's projects are totally aimed
at demoting the Palestinian nation and destroying motivation for
resistance in their hearts. Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Palestinian
nation for their perseverance. "Palestinians and the Hamas Government they
voted in have stood up firmly despite all pressures. They know that
Palestine has to be liberated by the Palestinian nation itself. The
support of the Islamic ummah helps enhance their resistance," Ayatollah
Khamenei urged. Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on an American project to
stage a so-called peace conference, dubbed as 'fall meeting,' saying that
any gathering ever staged under the name of peace has turned to be harmful
to the Palestinian nation and for the same reason the Palestinian people
are rejecting the fall meeting. "With these conditions on the ground, how
can other governments move to sit a conference which the Palestinian
nation views as a dirty business," Ayatollah Khamenei inquired. Ayatollah
Khamenei made mention of the heavy defeat of the Zionist regime against
the Lebanese Hezbollah last year and considered the fall meeting as a
project by America to salvage the depleted regime.
The IR Leader invited all the Palestinian groups to unity, fraternity
and vigilance, taking into account the reality that the enemy has
trespassed the Palestinian dwelling. "The enemy is busy plotting in your
home. Beware of a domestic face-off," the Islamic Revolution Leader
alerted. Ayatollah Khamenei also deplored the Iraqi plight as another
suffering of the Islamic world.
The IR Leader considered the occupiers as either reluctant or unable to
restore security in Iraq, saying, "The occupiers even do not allow the
popular Iraqi government to combat against the atrocities which are driven
by blind terrorism. The reality demonstrates that the occupiers are
approved of blind terrorism thereby Americans and other occupiers are the
main culprit in any human tragedy or developmental and political fault in
Iraq."

throughout Iran.

Great causes never
materialize in the short run
9.10.2007
Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Tuesday evening
received hundreds of top university students and activists, appreciating
the academic fold over its recent lively effort to raise and pursue their
claims in social, academic and political spheres.
Ayatollah Khamenei told the fasting students that their burgeoning
social effort was imperative, adding that their continuous and rational
follow-ups would secure a bright future for the university surrounding.
"I have always noted that we have to fear a day when our youths and our
students may find no motivation to raise questions. By God's assistance
today the case is not so," Ayatollah Khamenei commended, urging for
further expansion of the spirit among the youths, especially the
university students.
Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the students of the reality that not all
the claims could be satisfied in the short run taking into account the
constraints facing the current capacities and facilities.
"Great causes never materialize in the short term. Nevertheless, a
balanced and rational pursuit of demands helps draw bright prospects for
our universities," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
"Indeed your pursuits will bear fruits. In the past years too if the
faithful and responsible university youths had not hoisted the flag of
justice in society the trend of developments or the electoral choice would
have not been led to the coming to power of a justice-seeking government
nor the dominance of justice discourse in society," the IR Leader noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei however urged the audience to make their claims more
viable by providing executive mechanisms and by assisting the relevant
bodies to realize those expectations.
Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the students to extend their follow-ups
to their post-academic career.
To guarantee the spirit in discussion in the academic surrounding,
Ayatolllah Khamenei proposed an academic scheme be prepared to raise
political elites.
"The media must vigorously present scientific, social and political
elites. Apart from that, the university associations are expected to
expand the atmosphere of debate and reason by raising political elites,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
"They (the university associations) are expected to solidify the
politico-intellectual base of the students and bolster their hopes so that
in the years to come the ground will let the students to breathe in the
same atmosphere and move in the path of sublime objectives and aspirations,"
Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei viewed it as natural to
criticize and question all the authorities, no matter whom.
"The authorities must not be dealt with enmity. The idea however does
not necessarily implies not criticizing or questioning the different
authorities including the leader," Ayatollah Khamenei underlined, adding
that criticism can accompany friendliness.
In the same context, Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed that one who does not
hold belief in some matter does not necessarily constitute an antagonist
in that regard.
Ayatollah Khamenei also rejected the claims that 'the leader had made
some remarks in some private official meetings inconsistent with his
public statements.'
"If on some grounds, including the enemy's knowledge, it is not deemed
appropriate to make some statement, neither the statement nor its reverse
will be made. So my statements are those made in different meetings with
the people or the authorities," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out.
Ayatollah Khamenei then affirmed that the call to support the
Ahmadinejad Administration does not necessarily translate into being
approved of its whole performance.
"The serving administration is indeed a hundred percent trustworthy.
However, it does not mean that the leader knows all the details of its
performance or is approved of them all," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
"It is neither imperative nor possible for the leader to know all the
details of the activities of all the bodies or ministries. There is no
reason the leader enter every executive sphere around because the scopes
and responsibilities are already specified," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The IR Leader concluded his remarks by urging the students and the
academic surrounding to realize the public and the leader's expectations
from them, mainly progress of political knowledge, deepening of religious
thought and faith, expanding of religious enlightening and breaking of the
boundaries in the field of science, politics and faith.
"The Divine creation entails the triumph of truth. Wherever there is
faith and diligence, there is advance and victory too. For the same reason,
we keep hope in the future of our universities," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
In the beginning of the meeting, several top students as well as
representatives of different student associations expressed their views
regarding various academic, scientific, cultural, social or political
issues.
At the end of the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei led a congregation of
dusk prayers and then the students broke their fast alongside him.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei called on the
executive body Sunday evening to enhance noble moral traits in society
through a vigorous nurturing scheme.
As frame of reference, Ayatollah Khamenei made mention of the
recommendations of the Master of the Faithful, Hazrat Ali (greeting to him)
to his son, Imam Hassan (greeting to him).
"The honorable Imam viewed wisdom as the singlemost source of
self-sufficiency for human being whereas diversion from wisdom as biggest
deficiency. He urged avoiding self-assertion or making friendship with the
ignorant, the misers, the sinful or the liars," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader quoted Imam Ali's recommendations
regarding social morality, adding however that noble moral traits are more
than just developing positive relationship with others but also serve such
acclaimed traits as patience, remission, gratitude, benevolence, fairness,
compassion to subordinates, bravery, and no-deviations mood.
Ayatollah Khamenei underscored the need to exercise prudence in
handling national affairs, adding that the concept would have been
misperceived if some authorities had given up great jobs and reduced the
pace of work.
"Wisdom sometimes calls for a slow and mild trend whereas sometimes it
requires quick job and resolute measure," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
Ayatollah Khamenei considered greed, physical gratifications, anger,
and self-absorption as adversaries to wisdom and alerted the authorities
to be wary of those large traps.
In the same regard, Ayatollah Khamenei commended the ever-growing
spiritual tendencies in society, especially in the youth, as the miracle
of the Islamic Revolution and an undeniable reality.
"The inclination of the young generation to worship and humility to
lord is a Divine phenomenon and a revolutionary fruit," Ayatollah Khamenei
said, urging for vigorous schemes to help the next generations to take the
tendency as convention.
The Islamic Revolution Leader noted that the regenerative growth was a
tribute to the muted diligence of some individuals in the past.
The IR Leader assigned the relevant authorities to undertake untiring
and harmonious efforts to enhance the mood in the next generations, adding
that the ground was further prepared to that effect after the President
Ahmadinejad Administration declared a platform of spiritual and
revolutionary values.
Ayatollah Khamenei then singled out several governmental bodies for
undertaking the spiritual promotion in a joint effort. They included the
Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, the Islamic Republic of Iran
Broadcasting, the Islamic Propagation Organization, the Ministry of
Science and Research and Technology, and finally the Ministry of Education.
The IR Leader then turned to the case of wisdom in politics, urging the
people and authorities to beware the enemy's double-dealing.
"We need not be scared of the enemy. At the same time we must not
mistake it for a pushover. The wisdom and prudence require one to guard
against enemy ambushes in different economic, cultural or social contexts,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
"All bodies are responsible in this regard. However, based on the
Constitution the Administration and the President per se bear the
responsibility to coordinate the bodies," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
In the beginning of the meeting, President Mhamoud Ahmadinejad
appreciated the Iranian nation for "their ever-solidifying moral traits
which reflect wishes of other nations and presents them an example."
The President then delivered a report on the latest cultural schemes
adopted by his Administration.
At the end of the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei led a congregation of
dusk prayers and then the members of the Administration broke their fast
alongside him.
