Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei pointed out
Saturday evening that the wronged but robust Iranian nation will hold out

restoration of Islamic identity to the Islamic ummah' and finally 'the
indisputable position of the Islamic Republic in the region and the world.'
The IR Leader urged the authorities to enhance the efficiency of the
System by taking inspiration from the bulwarks of knowledge, wisdom and
resolve.
"The Iranian nation resembles the Master of the Faithful Ali (greetings
to him) and all the other companions of right in that it is wronged but
robust," Ayatollah Khamenei observed, adding that the nation will stay the

Turning to the upcoming eighth parliamentary elections, Ayatollah

the elections as a sublime and sweet goal, avoid any defamation, fuss or

delivered a report on the Administration's records in the preceding
Iranian year, saying that in the cultural sector, the cabinet had focused

University, the Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei added, "The Iranian nation

culture should dominate society

Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said
here Thursday that Quranic culture should rule the Iranian society.
"A good and competent reciter of Holy Quran is verily worth being
endeared and appreciated but it should serve as a means for prevalence of
Quranic culture among the community members," said Supreme Leader of
Islamic Revolution in an address to a group of top and exemplary Holy
Quran reciters and instructors on the first day of the lunar fasting month
of Ramadhan starting on Thursday.
Lauding growing success of the Iranian reciters of Holy Quran,
Ayatollah Khamenei called on the audience to ponder on Quranic concepts
and consider themselves the addressees of the divine book which serves as
a guidance to prosperity and salvation of mankind.
The Paramount Leader also called for fine and logical translation of
the holy book so that all the readers would have a profound and well
understanding of its verses and injunctions.
Ayatollah Khamenei said reciter of the holy book too should recite it
in a fine and appropriate manner with logical pauses, stresses and
intonation so that the listener would enjoy listening and appreciating it.
"The reciter should recite Quran in a way as if the Quranic concepts
are inspired on the hearts and souls of the listeners. The reciter's
intention would hence be influencing the audience not revoking their
appreciation."
Ayatollah Khamenei said people should be in constant
communion with Holy Quran and they should recite its verses on a daily
and regular basis.
The Ayatollah also called on the youth and young adults to try to
memorize Quranic verses and ponder on their concepts.
The Supreme Leader led the evening and night prayers and attended an
Iftar (fast breaking) reception after the speech.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told the IRGC
commanders Sunday morning that the national dignity and identity of the
Iranian nation was a tribute to their Islamic Revolution and that Imam

The Commander-in-Chief thanked former commander general of the corps,
Major General Rahim Safavi and praised its newaly-appointed Commander
General Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari as a precious man who has stood
associated with many services.
Major General Jafari in the same meeting vowed full preparedness on the
part of the corps, adding that the IRGC had every movement inside or
outside the region under surveillance and would powerfully stood up to any

Ayatollah Ali Mehkini, saying that the presidency of the devout Alim in
the assembly was indeed a source of credibility so that he was really

Ayatollah Khamenei said the description by the Master of the Faithful
Ali (AS) of the devout Alims is also true of the deceased chief: Disregard
of the worldly life, bravery, unequivocalness, timeliness and confident to

We are in need of such an attitude at present," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
The IR Leader appreciated the assembly for selecting an effective board

assembly in the public mind, it kept a group of veteran revolutionary
figures in its administrative board.
Ayatollah Khamenei attributed the supreme position of the assembly to
its assignment regarding the system's leadership, saying, "The leadership
is the essential beacon of the Islamic System. The Assembly of Expert in
its supreme position appoints the essential beacon, the axis of the
System, and at time when this beacon suffers disqualifications in terms of
leadership requirements it makes it knwon to the public," the IR Leader
added.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the credibility of the assembly in the public
mind would remain as strong as ever provided it acts in a way that the
people continue to take its decisions as evidence and accept it wishfully,
not out of their legal duties.
The IR Leader said the goal would be materialized through the
assembly's effectual performance.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the enemies' relentless effort to
undermine the assembly and trigger apathy notably in the runup to the
fourth elections of the assembly adding that the nation nevertheless

"The Assembly of Experts is a pure convention and a domain of unity

The IR Leader expressed hope those efforts would gradually bear fruits in
the country.
"The incumbent President (Mahmoud Ahmadinejad) is a devout, brave,
decent, super-active, and persevering man which is steadfast towards the
principles. All of us are duty-bound to support the three Branches of
Government, especially the Administrative and the President per se,"
Ayatollah Khamenei acclaimed.
The Islamic Revolution Leader touched on the enemy's ceaseless threats,
adding that the Iranian nation in the course of the post-revolutionary
years has always been subject to the malice of the world arrogance

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei in a message
issued Thursday to the 16th nationwide prayer conference acclaimed the
lively act of prayer to God as a miraculous remedy and urged the
organizers of the conference to employ wisdom and art to make awareness
about the religious practice.
The full text of the message, read out in the conference Thursday by
Hojjat-al-Islam Mohsen Qara'ati follows.
Bimillah-e Rahman Rahim
I pay honor to the meeting and call on the omniscient and all-hearing
God to turn the conference into a source of warmth and an enlightening
light for the immaculate, vivacious hearts of our youths and spread the
melodious sound of worship throughout our country.
Prayer is the need of human being. We the stuck in the throes of the
temporal life are in need of a hatch to pass the pure air of freedom from
the world of meaning to us and help the heart to escape impurity and
unawareness. Without this window of light and liveliness, the human self
would lose its luster and the heart picks the color, smell and nature of
mud.
If we know prayer as it is, we will thank God thousands of times for
the great gift which His messengers have extended to us.
I urge you the organizers of the conference whose effort is remarkable
to put your back into making awareness about prayer vigorously. This is
more effective than any other executive order, directive or decree. The
hearts are intertwined with spiritual pursuit. You must show them this
right path, this miraculous remedy and this heartening window. This is
what helps publicize prayer and couple it with spiritual state, presence,
and enthusiasm. This would translate the following maxims:
Prayer is the summit of the faithful.
Prayer is the best religious subject. Some wish to takes it more and
some wish to take it less.
Subsequently for the great practice, wisdom, art and motivation must be
employed.
I ask God to confer The Success on all of you growingly.

Iranians deserve to ebb in

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei expressed
profound hope about a burgeoning scientific drive by the young Iranian
elites, adding that the blessed movement will reach its destination with
the favor of God and helps materialize the sublime aspirations of the
Iranian nation.
Addressing a hundreds-strong college of students who have stood podium
in major domestic and international scientific occasions, Ayatollah
Khamenei described the burgeoning drive as a double necessity taking into
account the historical backwardness which befell the nation under the rule
of despotic or puppet regimes since the Qajar era until the Islamic
Revolution changed the situation.
"If a country wishes dignity, sovereignty, independence, identity,
security and welfare, it must be able scientifically. This undeniable
reality makes the natural trend of human life," the IR Leader said to
provide another motivation for the drive.
Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on the bitter ordeal that the Iranian
nation suffered after it was made to lag behind the world scientific
caravan during the past hundred years, adding that even though the country
enjoys better conditions than past thank to the Islamic Revolution and
though Iran presently enjoys an unprecedented dignity in the world, there
is a long way ahead to make up for the backward trend.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that power requires science and attributed the
bullying mood of some Western countries, including America to their
scientific strength.
"A clear example of such a bullying mood has come against the nuclear
issue and the technological ability of the young Iranian experts in the
discipline. These countries say 'because we have no trust in you, you
should not possess the technology," Ayatollah Khamenei noted in the same
regard.
"The people make the utterance to us who waged two world wars in the
course of twenty years and applied their military force wherever they
could. Their crimes in Hiroshima, Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Kosovo
stand samples of their attitude and performance," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran has never
initiated an aggression or military attack in the past 28 years, adding
that the Iranian nation withstands and will withstand the bullies and by
no means yields to intimidation in the nuclear issue or other issues.
The Islamic Revolution Leader said there was a lesson in the imperious
treatment by America and some other Western countries of the other nations,
adding that those countries because of their scientific might let
themselves intimidate others in the international scene and for the same
reason the Iranians must equip themselves with science to stand up to
their intimidation.
"The consciousness of anyone who is interested in country' nation,
religion and identity would not allow him or her to treat the issue with
indifference. This has motivated me in the recent years to make a constant
call for a scientific movement in the country," Ayatollah Khamenei pointed
out.
Ayatollah Khamenei made mention of the prideful Iranian history in
raising up elite figures and eminent scientists in different disciplines,
adding that considering its vast treasure trove of talents, the Iranian
nation enjoys the potentials to ebb in science and pursue science to serve
humanity unlike the wish of the Western countries.
The IR leader touched on a strong recommendation on the part of Islam
for serving humanity, justice, peace and security, adding that due to
their disregard of spirituality and God and instead their reliance on
capitalism and deviated science, some Western countries, America atop, are
abusing their scientific power to wage war and bloodshed.
Ayatollah Khamenei then touched on recent remarks by the American
President and called them hateful, violent and arrogant.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran since the beginning of the Islamic
Revolution has never been intimidated by international frowns. The Iranian
nation will bring down these arrogant, drunken powers through an artful,
wise way," Ayatollah Khamenei promised.
Ayatollah Khamenei viewed the idiotic arrogance of America and some
Western countries as a cause for their collapse, adding that the powers
are dipping more and more in their self-created mire due to their
arrogance and whimsical trend and will collapse at last.
Ayatollah Khamenei recommended the President Ahmadinejad Administration
to take note of scientific growth in its macro policies. The IR Leader
urged the elites too to strive diligently and live up to their national
and historical role in the scientific movement.
"The target is this: The Iranian nation and Iran must reach such levels
of ability that it stands as scientific reference for the world so that
every researcher or scientist who looks for latest scientific achievements
find him or herself in need of learning Persian language," Ayatollah
Khamenei urged.
The IR Leader placed a premium on the case of national scientific map
and said that the prospective map must single out the position of various
sciences, needed enrollees as well as their gender and geographical
distribution.
Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the national scientific circles to render
researches and inventions applicable.
Ayatollah Khamenei concluded by calling on the elite students to avoid
vain. The IR Leader also urged the elite students to exercise love in
their country and soil, live up to their Islamic duties towards their
parents as well as veteran researchers, and drive afar
translation-revolving scientific inquiries.
At the end of the meeting Ayatollah Khamenei led congregational prayers.
The studnets then sat guests to a luncheon ceremony.
IR Leader appoints new IRGC
commander

Islamic Revolution Leader and Chief Commander of the Armed Forces,
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a decree issued Saturday appointed a new
commander for the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).
Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari was appointed as the new
commander of IRGC. He was also promoted to Major General by the Islamic
Revolution Leader. General Jafari was commander of IRGC's ground forces.
IR Leader, in his decree, pointed to General Jafari's brilliant
background in the armed forces in different stages.
In a separate decree, Ayatollah Khamenei appointed Brigadier General
Yahya Rahim Safavi as his senior advisor and assistant in military affairs.
General Safavi was the commander of IRGC
