Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei praised the
position of workers in economic development and instructed the
Administration to sort out worker-investor relationship especially in
favor of workers security so as to help the country's economy to pick a
quicker flourish through further investment and value-added profits.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the praises and instructions in a
thousands-strong gathering of workers who had thronged to mark the
eleventh day of the second month of the Iranian calendar which enshrines
the World Laborer Day (April 31).
Ayatollah Khamenei in his speech declared Islam's view about labor as
per which it regards working as a top-notch merit.
The IR Leader commended the country's worker community for their
perseverance to stand by the Islamic System during the past 27 years
despite a raft of political conspiracies. "They (workers) never abandoned
factory and production even for a moment and that is a great pride for the
worker community," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the workers as devout, considerate,
revolutionary and faithful to revolutionary aspirations.
"The worker community is featured by a drive to find solutions to
problems from within the framework of the Islamic System whose main
characteristic is to assist underprivileged strata and expand justice
while West-linked establishments has shown in practice they hold no mercy
for workers," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed.
Ayatollah Khamenei likened the trio of worker, investor and the
Administration to the three sides of a national economic growth triangle.
The IR Leader reaffirmed his statements early on the year that economic
growth constitutes a major goal for the nation, adding that any such
growth calls for further production under a joint
worker-investor-Administration effort which lives up to its own
assignments.
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined an Islam-championed respect for any
investor and his or her capital, adding, "unlike a few failure schools of
economy which tend to divide society into two poles and unlike the Western
community in which capital owners make a comment or better say act God on
every affair, in the Islamic System, respect of investor comes along
respect of worker and in this reciprocal effort, every party is entitled
to enjoy its fair and just share."
Ayatollah Khamenei assigned the Administration to sort out
investor-worker relationship. "The Administration must watch over the
affair, lift the two parties from any sort of insecurity and while moving
to prevent them from encroaching on one another, extend a larger shgare of
its support umbrella over the workers."
The IR Leader acknowledged that domestic products are lagging on
quality grounds. "Domestic products may grow in terms of quality and
optimization by way of promoting technical and professional training and
creating grounds for worker innovation," Ayatollah Khamenei recommended.
The IR Leader rejected a culture of demoting domestic products and
promoting foreign products that was all the rage in the
pre-Islamic-Revolution era. "For years, it was drummed up in this country
that Iranians are not capable of making quality goods; unfortunately
remnants of the culture still linger in the country," Ayatollah Khamenei
deplored, adding however that the workers can afford to preserve national
dignity and reputation with respect to domestic industry by fostering
their capabilities.
Issuing alert about enemy efforts to trouble the milieu of affection
and understanding among different walks of life in the country, Ayatollah
Khamenei added that the enemy had leveled at the unity and cohesion of the
powerful and united body of the Iranian nation by trying to aggrandize
guild claims and stir up an unhealthy race track on which every party
demands concessions only to disrupt concentration and planning affairs of
the Administration.
"Not surprisingly then, as this year too was named year of national
unity, all the strata and guilds are expected to join a united and solid
rank and affectionately transform the country into a healthy ground for
service and diligence and expedite the pace of economic growth," Ayatollah
Khamenei urged for.
The IR Leader acknowledged that the Iranian nation in the past 27 years
has been showing its power and talent, proving that the era of humiliation
of the nation is over.
"The independent, dignified and prideful Iranian nation in light of its
ample human resources and younger talents feels more capable than ever to
move up in a quicker manner," Ayatollah Khamenei underscored.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei penned a
statement Sunday in honor of the Islamic city councils across the country
and praised them as a manifest sign that this is people who run the
country.
Ayatollah Khamenei praised a public epic of huge turnout in the third
round of council elections December 15 last year, adding that the societal
foundation shall undertake to remove problmes from the life of people and
that the significant job could only realize by public trust and in an
ambience free from factional and partisan motivations.
The text of the statement follows.
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Praises to the Almighty God that for one more occasion the Islamic
councils in urban and rural areas step into a newer span and that a newer
chapter opens for the selects of people to render services.
December 15 elections, with a record turnout, enshrouded the country in
the all-embracing cover of these councils whose assignment as per the
Constitution is to run cities and villages and this will put a further
sign before all the eyes that this is people who run the country.
The councilors must live up to the public participation, already larger
than past, and dedicate themselves to a service which has a direct and
immediate effect on the daily life of urban and rural population.
The societal foundation is mainly assigned to find pragmatic solutions
to the immediate and definite problems of the people in city and village.
It is aimed to further smooth civil life and grant it a stronger moral
milieu.
The public trust will grow and the path will open for the vivacious
presence of people in every field of national development provided the
councils prove successful to meet the objective.
As a substantial requirement in this regard, no factional or partisan
motivation should be allowed to encroach the councils and distract it from
its main undertaking. A relatively successful record of the second round
of the councils in many larger cities gives credence to this reality.
The requirement gains significance not least in the appointment of
mayors and reeves who are required to be trustworthy, faithful, competent,
considerate and courteous toward people.
It could prove a killer poison for the momentous task, incapacitate the
councils or make it low-benefit and even harmful should factional
interests or partisan, personal or relational motivations are allowed to
spike it.
The councils must have it in mind to follow this point of note in
conducting their supervision and audit of the mayors and reeves and
consider no more thing than their great Divine assignment.
The bill of assignments of the councilors is expected to enshrine on
top inter alia such rates as to preserve identity and originality of
cities and villages, adher to Islamic and Iranian architect, promote
impressive while solid buildings, foster culture of order and law, expand
manifestations of religion and morals, render wide-offer urban services,
expand green areas, pursue environmental health, cater to the war-injured
and physically disabled people, treat underprivileged districts and
individuals with justice, and pay a special heed to women and youths.
Let's acknowledge the Almighty God is watching over your deeds so as to
produce such a great worship out of the people-assigned service that lifts
you closer to Him.
Hope that the Almighty God grows content with your effort and that you
become entitled with the prayer of Hazrat Baqiatollah (the Remainder of
Allah).
And peace be on you,
Sayed Ali Khamenei

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Friday called on
Muslim scholars and intellectuals to work out a charter of Islamic unity
in the form of a historical demand.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the call to an audience of senior Iranian
authorities as well as ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran and
several invitees to a Conference on Islamic unity in Tehran in which he
congratulated Muslims on the auspicious birth anniversary of the noblest
messenger of Allah Hazrat Muhammad and the 6th Shii Imam Jafar al-Sadeq
peace be upon them.
"In light of the dire need of the Islamic world to unity and that the
genuine solution to the problems of Muslims lies in their Islamic unity
and harmony, the Muslim Alims and intellectuals are expected to formulate
the charter of Islamic unity as a historical claim," Ayatollah Khamenei
urged.
The IR Leader viewed happiness of humanity as a tribute to the
compassion and blessings of the noblest messenger of Allah and underlined
the mankind's need to his teachings to find salvation and pave the ground
for justice and sublime humane values.
"The Islamic umma, casting behind years of ignorance, has now developed
a new look at the Islamic creed. The world of Islam can afford to take
lead of human move towards perfection through so fresh a foresight and
appreciation," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei reminded the addresses about the realities of the
current world notably the Islamic awakening and a return to Islam, revival
of Qoran and creation of a consistent umma.
"These aspirations, for years viewed as a castle in the air and floated
only by some of the prominent figures and reformist of the world of Islam,
have now turned into a live slogan for the masses, specially young and
educated people," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed, noting that the victory of
Islam and the perseverance of the Iranian nation in imbuing the Islamic
umma with hope had played a key part in the event.
"Parallel to Islamic awakening and rebirth of authentic Islamic slogans,
the forces of arrogance have further organized, solidified and multiplied
their enmity since the awakening of the world of Islam has posed a large
peril to the arrogant powers and the overall global hegemony," Ayatollah
Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader described the recent ill-will projects of
stirring modern time Crusades, affronting the noble messenger of Allah
Hazrat Muhammad PBUH, and faking a ferocious image out of Muslims as a
premeditated ploy to challenge the front of Islamic identity.
"One more reality of the current world is that unlike materialistic
calculations and media propaganda, the apparently powerful front of
arrogance has lost the battle to the great Islamic movement," Ayatollah
Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei believed that the failed projects of the
American-led front of arrogance in the Middle East, especially in
Palestine, Iraq and Lebanon, well exemplifies the reality, urging those
who carry pretensions of re-thinking the tacks to take these undeniable
realities into consideration.
Ayatollah Khamenei then renewed call for Islamic harmony as a dire
necessity to keep on the profound movement of the Islamic umma towards
victory.
"The forces of arrogance seek to incite difference and sectarian
conflict between Muslims to counter which unity and harmony among the
Islamic umma must be promoted and for the same reason, this (new Iranian)
year was called year of national unity and Islamic harmony," the IR Leader
said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the chief hindrance to unity comes from
ill-advised perceptions, illusive ideas, misunderstanding and unawareness
about each other's consistent basics of thinking.
The IR Leader then underscored the role of Islamic governments and
Muslim Alims in paving the ground for the materialization for the Islamic
unity and harmony, adding given the charter of Islamic unity is not drawn
up today, the posterity will take us to task.
Ayatollah Khamenei asserted that the forces of arrogance never bother
distinguishing between Shii and Sunni and treat both of them as members of
the overall Muslim community.
"While the world of arrogance seeks to dent the face of Muslims and
takes the Islamic awakening which has taken place among Shii and Sunni as
a threat and subjects it to assault, does reason judges that Muslims
engage in sectarian and religious rows and forget their common enemy?"
"Islamic governments must bridge gap between themselves. If they rely
on their nations, might and capabilities, they will grow more powerful
than once they depend on the American politicians," Ayatollah Khamenei
said.
"The Islamic Iran has displayed the experience of struggle against
superpowers, reliance on God and dependence on own capabilities so that
during the past 28 years (post-revolutionary era) the Iranian nation has
grown mightier and more advanced despite every sort of pressure and plot,"
Ayatollah Khamenei said.
