Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Thursday called
the Leadership Assembly of Experts a spiritual reserves and a huge source
of backing for the system.
Addressing the nation-elected elite clerics, Ayatollah Khamenei urged
avoiding undermining the Experts Assembly and striving to preserve
national trust in it. The IR Leader said the scientific, religious,
political and social maturity and avoiding factional and partisan affairs
is the key to preserve the significant status of the Leadership Assembly
of Expert, adding defaming political figures or ulema in any form and with

Ayatollah Khamenei then described scientific, religious, political and
social maturity as other requirement to honor the foundation propriety,
adding those who qualify for the Assembly of Experts must enjoy necessary
maturity so that whenever they decide over leadership, people confidently
approve the decision.
The Islamic Revolution Leader called on the qualified and competent
figures to take part in the upcoming elections of the Leadership Assembly
of Experts, adding any one who believes he is qualified to member the
assembly is obliged by the Divine statute to subject him to people's vote.
Ayatollah Khamenei described people public participation in the
respected elections as a general responsibility and key to preserve the
credibility of the Assembly of Experts. The Leader promised to further
speak to people about the issue in due time.
As another requirement to honor the propriety of the assembly,
Ayatollah Khamenei urged members of the Assembly to avoid factional and
partisan issues.
"The principle goal of the formation of the Assembly of Experts is a
completely national issue to wit choosing the leader of the system in
necessary time, so the assembly is more dignified than letting it be
engaged in factional and partisan affairs," the IR Leader asserted, adding
however that holders of different political views can sit the Assembly,
but they should not transform it into a venue for politicized or partisan
motivations.
Ayatollah Khamenei furthermore thanked the incumbent members of the
Assembly of Experts, adding the Assembly in its third tenure adopted
invaluable measures that overall demonstrate the correct approach of the
scientific and political elites of the country regarding the platform of
the Revolution and the System.
Pointing to the upcoming elections for the Assembly of Experts,
Ayatollah Khamenei strongly criticized defamatory moves with any motives
or justification, adding a small group troubles the society through such
disgraceful moves, but every one must be alert not to let the milieu of
the elections be troubled with defamation.
Ayatollah Khamenei considered defamation of political, religious and
revolutionary figures as well as the honorable ulema and seminarian
clerics as absent from any religious or rational logic, adding defamation
and libel is not the solution to oppose what seems problematic to an
individual, rather, distinguishing between light and dark matters besides
avoiding naming others serves the solution.
Ayatollah Khamenei said libel, slander and making doubtful remarks
about others stand against the logic of Koran, adding even if the moves
aim at challenging a deviated inclination, defamatory methods will not
materialize the goal, so defamation and libel with any motivation must be
avoided.
Concerning the country's situation, Ayatollah Khamenei said the
conditions in different sectors are generally progressive, adding certain
wrong assessments and short-lived matters must not prompt one to ignore
the general and progressive trend of the country in the long term.
The IR Leader appreciated the accelerated development activities, the
praiseworthy efforts of the executive authorities in serving people as
well as the cabinet's due approach mainly as social justice and tackling
problems of underprivileged zones, adding "in the youthful, lively and
striving association of the council of ministers, there are many open and
active minds besides sagacious and logical ideas who are making unwavering
efforts as well as due plans and objectives for the development and
progress of the country.
Pointing to the some negative propagandas by the dissidents of the
system to deflect certain individuals and strata from the progressive
trend of the country, Ayatollah Khamenei said despite all these

Ayatollah Khamenei praised the system's authorities for grabbing
initiative in international and especially in regional affairs.
The IR Leader said the country enjoys an exceptional position and a
favorable movement and liveliness in foreign affairs and thank God
regional developments including the victory of Hamas and Hezbollah has
consolidated the position of the Islamic System.
Ayatollah Khamenei called the stunning victory of the Lebanese
Hezbollah in the face of the Zionist regime's army a great event, adding
dissidents of Islam and Muslims still remain to be stunned at the
significant event and fail to understand the reasons behind it, but such
great events which take place under the auspices of the Islamic
Revolution, have in practice helped consolidate the position of the system
and prove the credibility, clout and attractiveness of the slogans of the
Islamic Revolution.

government to push for its economic goals

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei
said on Monday the government is expected to take maximum advantage of the
exceptional political and economic situation to attain its goals
especially the action plan in line with Article 44 of the Constitution.
The Supreme Leader has forwarded an action plan to the legislature, the
executive branch and the judiciary to enforce Article 44 of the
Constitution which calls for major privatization program and ceding shares
of the state-run enterprises to people through the Stock Exchange.
The reception which took place on the occasion of the Government Week
(August 24-30), marks martyrdom anniversary of late president Mohammad
Rajaei and late prime minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar who died in
terrorist bomb blast planted by terrorist Mojahedeen Khalq Organization (MKO)
in 1982.
Monday, the third of the lunar month of Shaban also marks birth
anniversary of Imam Hussein (AS), the third Imam of Prophet Mohammad's (Peace
Be Upon Him) infallible household.
The Supreme Leader felicitated the cabinet members, the nation and the
entire Muslims of the world on birthday anniversary of Lord of the Martyrs.
The Supreme Leader said that goals of the current government have been
in conformity with the platform of the Islamic Revolution put forward by
the late Imam Khomeini which has led the Iranian nation to the heights of
glory in the international community.
"Currently, the country enjoys exceptional status which is helpful for
the government to push for the programs it is expected to implement to
achieve the targets envisaged in national plans," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Supreme Leader paid tribute to martyrs of the government and called

privatization of national economy, the Supreme Leader announced his
expectations that the government should enforce the economic development
plan in a way every provincial people in the country can enjoy economic
recovery and well-being.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the government should administer justice
in implementing economic development plans in every province and continue
the campaign against corruption bravely.
The Supreme Leader said that the government should consider the
preferences envisaged in the 20-Year Strategy Plan for Economic, Cultural
and Social Development Plan (2005-2025) and advised the government to
avoid taking hasty action or having delays in carrying out the programs.
"Practical steps from the government in line with the national plans
would be encouraging for people and would give them hope that economic
recovery would be achieved soon," the Supreme Leader said.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei called on the economic
sector to coordinate with Iranian Foreign Ministry on major economic deals
with foreign partners to prevent future troubles in their implementation.

Iran-Lebanon-Supreme Leader
Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Seyed Ali Khamenei referred to
recent remarks of US President George W Bush that the Zionist regime's
military offensive in Lebanon was a defensive move and that Israel had
emerged victorious as an example of this lack of reason and logic.
The Supreme Leader made the remarks here Thursday in a message to the
Lebanese Hezbollah's Secretary-General Seyed Hassan Nasrallah.
Concerning Lebanon, Ayatollah Khamenei said that its victory was due to
the efforts and courage of its people, and added that the enemy was wrong
in thinking that by attacking Lebanon it would target the weakest circle
of regional states and thereby realize its sweet dream of a "new Middle
East."
"The enemies, namely the US and Israel, underestimated the patience,
cleverness and courage of the Lebanese nation.
"But the Lebanese people, the courageous Lebanese youth and clever
politicians, awakened the enemies with a hard slap on their faces," added
the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that now the enemies are planning on ways to
undermine Lebanon's power and strength by sowing seeds of discord among
its politicians and the virus of impatience and skepticism among its
people.
Addressing Nasrallah, the Supreme Leader cautioned everyone to be alert
to their plots, adding that "thanks to the mercy of God Almighty you will
succeed to thwart their conspiracies and gain a second victory."
"Similar to your self-sacrificing jihad in the military battlefield,
the jihad you are facing in this new battlefield is significant and your
patience, reliance on God, honesty and prudence will be decisive," said
Ayatollah Khamenei.

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei called on an
audience of university deans and heads of higher education institutes and
research centers Monday to strive to grant dominance to knowledge in the
society.
Touching upon the objective of the National 20-year Economic Vision,
mainly as helping promote Iran's regional scientific position to primary
ranks, Ayatollah Khamenei said that a comprehensive scientific map is dire
for the country.
The IR Leader urged drawing the map based on a clear-cut timetable and
strategy to attain higher levels of modern science and scientific surge.
Ayatollah Khamenei then outlined national scientific privileges as rich
human talents, large student population, successful scientific experiments,
existence of seasoned teachers, and experiencing new scientific fields.

The Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday
commended a team of specialists who made a breakthrough in medical science
to cure spinal injuries.
The Islamic Revolution Leader said that the medical breakthrough is
very significant in terms of developing scientific theories and making
progress in research studies.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that those who are involved in hard work of
research studies to help the nation overcome backwardness imposed on Iran
for many years, would be rewarded by the Almighty.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that research studies in the field of basic
sciences and developing theories need extra investment that should be
provided by the government.
In a reception for the team, the Leader appreciated the services of Dr.
Saberi, the Executive Director of the Team of Researchers on Methods for
Curing Spinal Injuries and Mrs. Firouzi, a professor of biochemistry and
biophysics at Tehran University.
The Iranian researchers have made a breakthrough in helping the
patients with spinal injuries with culture of schwann cells enabling those
suffering from paralysis to move. Named after the German Physiologist
Theodore Schwann, the Schwann cells are a variety of neuroglia that mainly
provide myelin insulation to axons in the peripheral nervous system of
jawed vertebrates.

birthday anniversary of Hazrat Imam Ali (AS) on Tuseday described the
Commander of the Faithfull as the shining star in the sirmament of justice
and humanity, calling him the prominent fi gure revered by the world's
freemen.
Stressing on Jihad as the main lesson that Imam Ali desired to teach,
the honorable Leader reiterated, " Today the most important duty of the
Islamic Ummah is Jihad in the path of Allah and efforts to revive the
Muslim's self-esteem and their moral, humanitarian and scientific
sublimity."
The Islamic Revolution Leader, addressing the huge public gathering of
different people strata and Shiite and Sunni scholars , then elaborated on
the meaning of Jihad and said," Jihad is not limited to the wartime, it
also covers every step taken by Muslims to promote the Islamic Ummah's
scientific and religious status as well as unity among Muslims and

Ayatollah Khamenei further stated that the current miserable status of
the Islamic Ummah is the outcome of ignoring Jihad so that in an

The Islamic Revolution Leader also criticized America and Britain's
emboldening stand regarding the Zionist regime's crimes as well as UN's
inability adding that, "The next problem in the current circumstances is
division among the Islamic States especially indifference of some Arab
states which is wrong and harmful."
"Today supporting Hezbollah is obligatory for all Muslims and the
Islamic states which remained silent for reservations towards America
should realize that America never considers them," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader then described discord between Shiia and
Sunni as the regular tool in the hand of enemies adding that division is
the killer poison for the Islamic world and any move which leads to
division among Muslims is treacherous.
Ayatollah Khamenei reaffirmed the Islamic Republic of Iran's firm stand
towards the problems of the world of Islam adding America, in
collaboration with the Zionist regime and some European countries such as
Britain, seeks to eradicate Islam from the region because Islam stands up
to their interests.
Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the Islamic Revolution revived
Islamic sentiments in the Muslim world.
The honorable Leader also referred to the Hezbollah's resistence as an
example of Islamic dignity and said," The Zionist regime's army, once
renowned as an invincible army and having managed to defeat three Arab
armies whithin 6 days has yet to win the battle against Hezbollah after
nearly a month even if exhasting all possibilities and American military
assistence."

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei
Wednesday condemned the tragic disaster at the Lebanese village of Qana
and the silence of UN and the so-called supporters of human rights on the
Zionist regime's crimes in Lebanon.
In his message to the world of Islam, the Supreme Leader said "The
events in Lebanon have exposed the true nature of American human rights,
and have revealed the kind of Middle East the American government intends
to have."
"Today Hizbullah is on the frontline of the sacred defense of the
Muslim ummah and all nations of the region," said Ayatollah Khamenei.
"Bush and his American cohorts share the same degree of guilt in the
disasters brought upon Lebanon as the evil and wicked Zionist regime. And
the silence of the United Nations and many of the western governments and
above all the support by some governments, such as the notorious British
government, make them accountable and partners in crime in varying degrees
in contemporary and future judgment of humanity and in the day of
reckoning and divine judgment day," said the Leader.
The Supreme Leader stressed that more than ever before the Muslim
nations loathe America. Their governments, even those that are constrained
because of political considerations, loath and oppose the American
government because of so much outrageous and arrogant aggressions.
"The American regime must expect a hard slap on the face and the
crushing fist of Muslim ummah because of its support for the crimes and
the Zionist criminals and its blatant violation of the rights of Muslim
nations.
"The resistance of the people of Lebanon and the heroic struggles of
Hizbollah and power arising from their faith, endurance and trust in God
is another sign of awakening in the Islamic world and a mark of their firm
resolve against animosities and hostilities.
"The iron fist of the faithful, brave and innocent youth of Lebanon has
landed on the hideous face of the aggressors and has broken the glassy
shield of their conceited and drunken vanity," said the Leader.
