Officials should appreciate national resolve to
defend country
Tehran, July 30, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah
Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that national resolve to defend dignity and
independence of the country is a symbol of blessing from Almighty God and the
officials should appreciate such a blessing. In a meeting with thousands of
young students from the southern city of Ahvaz, the Supreme Leader said that the
main reason for the US hostility toward Islam is that Islam calls on nations to
defend their rights, independence and national interest. "The Americans are
making use of complicate propaganda methods in line with their hostility towards
Islam. They accuse Islam of calling for war, terror and hatred. But, no one
accepts such a great lie. Islam has nothing to do with such accusations. All
know that the United States is responsible for initiating war and aggression on
other nations, terror and creating hatred across the world," the Supreme
Leader said. Dismissing the US allegation of Iran's alleged support for
terrorism, the Supreme Leader said that such allegations being made through
colorful means are being recognized as scandalous propaganda. "The
rootcause of dispute between Iran and the US is that the Islamic Republic wants
the country to remain independent and administered by the votes of people
themselves not by the will of the world arrogance. That's why, abiding by the
Islamic Republic is equal to abiding by the independence and the rights of the
nation," the Supreme Leader pointed out. Iraq, is an example of the
American style of democracy and human rights, the Supreme Leader said, adding
that the US has embarked on plundering national wealth of the Iraqi people
proving that the US-installed regime led by foreign ruler is more dangerous than
Saddam Hussein's regime. Referring to the international campaign against
terrorism, the Supreme Leader said that the US unconditional support for the
crimes the Zionist regime are systematically committing against the Palestinian
people indicated the American-style campaign to fight terrorism, whereas, the
resistance of the Palestinian people to Israeli occupation is being termed as
terrorism. The Supreme Leader advised the youth to go ahead with augmenting
their scientific knowledge to bolster independence of the country and said,
"Your former generation stood against the imposed war and defended their
national identity. Now it's your turn to press ahead by augmenting your
scientific knowledge. So no power can bring the Iranian nation to its knees."
"The US is angry with scientific progress in Iran as a result of its
hostile attitude toward the Islamic Republic. It is telling lie about Iranian
nuclear program and accuses Iran of efforts to gain access to weapons of mass
destruction," the Supreme Leader said.

Tehran, July 21, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution
Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Monday that Iran's lively young
generation are God-given national asset and they should be provided with
educational service. In a meeting with officials of Education Ministry, the
Supreme Leader said that the educational service should help the young students
reinforce their national identity and character. Elaborating on the
specifications of educational programs, the Supreme Leader said that the youth
should enjoy programs to encourage them to look to future with hope and get
acquainted with the history of the Islamic Revolution. Elsewhere in his speech,
the Supreme Leader said that Iran has been the target of the enemy's propaganda
campaign to disappoint the youth by offering a gloomy picture of Iran. The
Supreme Leader said that the educational programs should help the youth fully
understand the importance of the country's independence and the price the
country has paid for it. At the same time the youth should be provided with
guidance to bolster their spiritual strength, he said. Ayatollah Khamenei said
in the meantime that the economic, scientific, social and cultural progress the
country has made in the past 24 years since the victory of the Islamic
Revolution must be fully explained to the young students. The Leader advised the
youth to observe prayers, the main religious obligation in every day life of
Muslims. Prior to the Supreme Leader's remarks, Minister of Education Morteza
Haji delivered a report on improvements in the educational system. SS/RR End
Supreme Leader: Islamic Revolution will never retreat
from lofty aspirations of great nation
Tehran, July 20, IRNA -- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah
Seyed Ali Khamenei said on Sunday that the Islamic Revolution will never retreat
from lofty aspirations of the great Iranian nation. Inspecting an exhibit of air
force hardware affiliated to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), The
Supreme Leader said that the Islamic Republic will defend the rights of the
nation and their national and Islamic identity. On philosophy of Iranian defense
structure, The Supreme Leader underscored the difference between the moral
strength and the material force and said that the moral strength overcomes
material force. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces said that Iranian defense
structure is a combination of moral strength and the material force comparing
with the superpowers which only rely on the material force in absence of
morality. The Supreme Leader said that the superpowers appreciate material force
in absence of morality and embark on oppression against human being, ignorance
of humanitarian values, humiliating the human being, and aggression on the
territories of the others. "Such superpowers and the world arrogance
practically follow the logic of jungle and will never achieve victory in reality,"
the Supreme Leader said citing the example of the US military might. Ayatollah
Khamenei said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is an example of the moral
strength brought by the people who defend the values. The moral strength has
passed the examination in the past 24 years in Iran, he said. "Any place
where such strength (moral strength) came into existence, the material force
could not bring them to their knees. Lebanon and Palestine are the examples,"
the Supreme Leader said. Elaborating on the futility of the US superiority over
Saddam Hussein regime in March-April 2003 invasion of Iraq, the Leader said that
the US faced with the Iraqi people's moral strength has reached the point of
inability, so the military power doesn't work there and the people call for
withdrawal of the occupation force. Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces
appreciated the progress the IRGC air force made and called for going ahead with
the process of moral strength in parallel with the material force. Prior to the
Supreme Leader's remarks, IRGC Commander Major General Rahim Safavi said that
the IRGC is equipped with long-range missile being used in the air and navy
defense. He said that the IRGC rapid deployment forces are well-prepared to
enter into combat with the systematic support of the Basij (volunteer forces).
The Supreme Leader inspected the air force jet fighters, combat and cargo
choppers as well as the unmanned airplanes for reconnaissance missions. The IRGC
air force performed airborne tactical exercises and Sukoi fighters also carried
out air show while the Supreme Leader was inspecting the air base. The IRGC air
force also took delivery of Shahab-3 long-range missile from the defense
ministry on the occasion of the Supreme Leader inspection. The Supreme Leader
lauded the achievements of the IRGC air force as "surprising".
Commander of IRGC Air Force Brigadier General Kazemi said that the commanders,
technicians and personnel of the IRGC air force are working endlessly to bolster
national defense system.
