ayatollah Seyyid Ali Khamene’i, on friday in a speech to a group of government
officials on the occasion of the annual muslim feast of mab'as said that the advent of
prophet Mohammad (pbuh) had been the greatest development in all history. ayatollah
Khamene’i said the historical incident beginning with the divine mission on prophet
Mohammad (pbuh) had led humanity away from a wilderness of total darkhood and ushered them
into a world of spiritual enlightenment free from wickedness and vices. he said the
plights of the modern day man, and political injustice on the peoples have their roots in
moral depravation of governments and ignorance of the masses under those
governments.
ayatollah Khamene’i said as the result of the triumph of the islamic revolution in
iran, the iranian nation had cast a new social and political order on the basis of the
tenets of islam which had made the islamic statehood stand out from other forms of
conventional governments in the contemporary world. he said in the islamic system of
governments, all government officials must sincerely endeavor to constantly self-educate
themselves for intellectual growth consistent with the moral principles of islam and
personally practice virtues before they venture to preach those virtues on

enemies have failed and would face similar fate in the future. The recent conspiracies to
erode Velayat-e Faqih (Governance of Supreme Jurisprudent), has been architected by the
enemies and carried out by some naive individuals. The government officials, the clergies
and the people gave a befitting response to the recent conspiracies, proving the extent of
the Iranian nation's awareness. ``Velayat-e Faqih is the backbone of the Islamic system of
government and I as a member of this nation am dutybound to defend Velayat.'' The Leader
thanked the nation for frustrating the recent conspiracy hatched by the enemies of the
Revolution, adding that a fully aware `Marja Taqlid' (a supreme alim whose religious
rulings are followed by Muslims) is the best of blessings for a nation, a Marja who cannot
be deceived or be influenced by enemy's propaganda and who does not receive its political
outlook from the Israeli radio.

reminding foreign enemies of Iran that the Islamic Revolution had shaken the throne of
