tuesday to a warm welcome of huge number of people. the leader of the revolution is to

ali khamenei on thursday praised the personality of mullah ahmad moqaddas ardebili and his
services to the islamic world. the leader made the remark in his opening message to the
4-day congress to commemorate moqaddas ardebili in the holy city of qom. the leader also
lauded the holding of scientific-research congresses as another initiative by the qom
seminary to launch an indepth review of the history of the shiite jurisprudence. the
leader of the islamic revolution expressed hope that getting acquainted with this great
personality and scholar of the safavid era and his scinetific and religious thoughts and
works would introduce new prospects to theological and scinetific centers strengthening
them further. lauding the initiative of the organizers of the congress, the leader also
expressed hope that such scientific gatherings will have a lasting impact on
educational,
scientific and religious centers.

seyyed ali khamenei here on monday called for islamization of universities and higher
education centres. in a meeting with his representatives at academic centers, the leader
said the islamic environment provides an ideal setting for acquiring knowledge at its
highest levels, getting familiar with the latest discoveries and making extensive
scientific efforts, in the spirit of faith and with the most excellent ethical
behaviour.
he cautioned against cosmetic measures regarding the programme for islamization of
academic centres, and added that those responsible for carrying out the islamization
programme at universities, including his own representatives, should not give emphasis on
mere formalities. the ayatollah said that the future of the country and the islamic
revolution depends on the islamization of universities, and regretted that no progress has
yet been made in this regard. islam, he said, lays stress on firm scientific facts and not
weak and unauthentic studies in the name of science. scientific knowledge should build the
society and guarantee the prosperity and self-sufficiency of the nation, he
added. the
leader called on theological centers to help those responsible including the ministry of
culture and higher education, the ministry of health and medical education and the
representatives of the leader to islamize academic centers with their vast experience in
this field.
